Anyone got any theories on possible plot lines for new film this year?

Who is the new baddie? Is it the inquisitor?

Hmm I think I've been reading to much nuclear war fiction as my first thought was that this was going to be about Regan's Strategic Defence Initiative...

Cheery subject lol

Gotta balance all that festive cheer somehow

Back onto the topic. I've been lead to believe that there will be something of a role reversal in comparison to the first films in that the Empire (what's left of it) will be playing the underdog whilst the Rebel's (or should that be New Republic?) will be the dominant power.

I'm also lead to believe that after the events of the Battle of Endor Luke (and possibly Leia) was left being the only remaining Force sensitive basically meaning that there were no active Sith or Jedi (other than Luke) until the start of this film when the Force 'reawakens'.

I think that scripts or books were written a few years ago for Episodes 7, 8 and 9 and I think this one will loosely follow the plot from 7

Interesting, I've read that Luke doesn't come in to film until halfway through and that he had to hide for years whilst searching force sensitives and training new Jedi.
Was one of the new books not about Jacyn Solo turning to the dark side?

Was one of the new books not about Jacyn Solo turning to the dark side?

LucasArts/Disney have gone on record stating that the novels set after the original three films (the "Expanded Universe") published over the past two decades are not canon and "never really happened". The forthcoming films can and likely will choose to ignore Jacen Solo's existence.

I've read many of the books.
Han and Leia have two force sensitive kids.
Chewie was supposed to have died by now.
All the stormtroopers should be elderly as they had speeded up growth.
Boba has escaped the pit and got Slave 2 ship.
The empire is a rump state.
And the Sssruuk attack the galaxy.
That's according to the books which JJ Abrams hasn't read.

Yes and as above those aren't cannon...
Still the stories made sense and were thrilling unlike this JJ film.
He's the idiot who made a pretend Star Trek movie where the ship goes to warp after ejecting the warp core! JJ Abrams is not to be trusted.

Where can I see it? Obviously you must have seen the film in order to know that it's not 'thrilling'?

The film has already been made. Even people who've only seen the trailer can see it's more about special effects with the X-wing attack over a lake on a not seen World devastator. And the Falcon evading new imperial fighters on Tattooine. Even the original Wedge Antillies didn't want to be in the film as it would bore him.
It's not very realistic compared to the others in story. Also that alien in Mos Eisley is just like Yoda mixed with Watto.

Right so where can I watch it? Clearly you have in order to be able to make such statements of fact like 'the story doesn't make sense'.

JJ has stated that he wants this film to be more about emotion and less about complexity in both story and CGI.

The film is set on three planets: Yavin, a desert planet (as yet not confirmed as Tattooine) and a cold ice forrest planet.

The X-Wings over the Lake are on Yavin, which get's a mention in episode 4, and is a stronghold of the rebellion.

Kylo Ren is the guy with the crossed sabre - as for 'baddie' not fully sure on that yet although it's looking like it.

Boba Fett is alive, he makes a brief appearance in this film, and plays a major part in the next. In next year's release of the standalone Fett film, he is linked with the Bothan Spies who steal Death Star data for Princess Leia.

The Inquisitor is absolutely the main 'baddie' in the film.

Luke lives on an island away from all humanity (possibly on Yavin), and has trained seven young Jedi over the years.

The 'awakening' is an event controlled by 'the force' where anyone with force capabilities suddenly develops a heightened awareness of them.

Han Solo's death was pencilled in for episode 8, but seeing as he is in the best shape of any of the originals (and therefore more marketable) this might not happen.

Han and Leia have a daughter played by Daisy Ridley (Rey) who is force sensitive.

The awakening gives Leia 'insight'.

Luke is in regular spiritual contact with Yoda, Ben, and Qui-Gon Jinn but not his father! He also has an ambitious son....

Max Von Sydow is playing the 'old' version of of a bit-part character from an older Star Wars film - unknown which though...

John Boyega's character (Finn) is the lead character and hero, he is force sensitive and has a love interest in the character played by Lupita Nyong'o.

The story evolves around a quest to return Luke Skywalker's original light sabre after if turns up in the sand of the desert planet and ends up in the hands of his niece Rey....

I'd love to say more, but I'd have to throw you to the sandpeople.

It will be amazing, at least on a par with the original Star Wars (episode 4).

Are you sure the inquisitor is the main ''badie''?
Quote Yoda:
"Always two they are, no more no less"
This is the surprise which no one will want ruining.

Sadly it will never be online as it will be taken down.
You can see the concept artwork which was leaked though.

You don't have much experience with film piracy do you?
No, only normal piracy! And anyway I don't have the film, someone else DID and it wasn't done up properly as far as CGI and music were concerned. I have go watch it when it comes out again anyway. It's worse than 3 but about as good as episode 5.

Sorry are you saying that episode 3 beats The Empire Strikes Back?

I have a bad feeling about this.

Episode 3 is the best! Remember all the great dialogue?
And the compelling storyline? Right from the start it's a battle. Then the ship rescue mission then there's the Mustafa lightsabre fight and thre Yoda vs. Emperor fight. Obi fighting Grievious with his 4 lightsabres.
All the Jedi being killed by order 66. And the basis being set for episode 4 with only 1 minor continuity error

Episode 5 is too simple.
They hide on Hoth are found, hide in Asteroids and get scared and are found again, then hide on Stardestroyer then go to Bespin and get caught. Then run away after being totally beaten.

Yes and as above those aren't cannon...

They are in my head! :D

During my teenage years I read just about every Star Wars novel from Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy until the New Jedi Order, at which point my interest started to fizzle out. (My brother sulked at the fact that they killed Chewbacca, and refused to read another book!) I did however continue to read Zahn's further novels (all highly reccomended). I may accept the new stories, but I've enjoyed all the old ones too much to forget them entirely.

Roughly two years ago I came across some old (West End Games) Star Wars Roleplaying Game source books from the early 90s. It was surprisingly nice to look back at these and remember a time before the prequel trilogy had been thought of. "An elegant rulebook, for a more civilised time..." ;)

The 2nd edition of Star Wars the role playing game is the best.
My character was Fattsnacca, an obese greedy Wookiee pilot who smuggled and raced.
I had loads of fun playing that game!

Revised and Expanded, of course.

You will no doubt be astonished to learn that my first Star Wars role play character's name was.....

Krus Aragon! :P
