No, still see signs of the vinyls (Ugobus?), Marshall Dart 41132 on the 18 again earlier today.

I was in Truro today, 41132 arrived as an 18, turned around and left as a 14 for st Ives. Driving out of Truro a few hours later I passed it in Chacewater on the 14. Interestibg choice of bus for the 14/18 to say the least

A Bedford OB made it into the centre of Mousehole during the Running Day in April - just.

I was on board and it was a very tight squeeze with only just enough room to get the bus round the corner.

Yes, actually smaller than the Solos. The largest buses that have been able to squeeze into Mousehole were the Mercedes 811s, followed by the LHSs.

It did a full day's service too. Driving through Crowlas at 18.00 it appeared again bound for Penzance : too many other things to concentrate on to note passenger numbers.

Marshall Dart 41132 at Camborne today with a front panel missing low down below the front windscreen, possibly towed in.

Perhaps the usage on the 14/18 recently has taken it's toll on it!

After looking through the internet after reading in the WG thread about WGs new owners bringing in other vehicles - An ex Pennine Dart I noticed has turned up, I stumbled on this phot on Flickr of one of the ex Reading Wrightbuses - Carries First Kernow branding at the top, but it see it's gained Truronian Branding on the side too!

The Truronian branding has been carried for at least a couple of weeks.

Looking at the new 27 timetable, I notice there are journeys starting/finishing at Carclaze IE. I'm assuming that this is a new outstation (apologies if this is ancient history that passed me by)? Looking at the timetables, there's 9 vehicles (4 x 24, 4 x 27, 1 x 101) but don't know if there's any input on 21.

Can anyone confirm/expand the above AND also advise if the Eden project o/s is no more?

Well as there is not much happening with First Kernow over the Christmas and New Year period I thought I'd post some more photographs from years gone by.

During July 1986 a visit to the old Western National Penzance Wherrytown depot found from left to right Bristol LH 1627 (withdrawn), 1561, 1255 (withdrawn) & 1638.

Also present at Wherrytown depot was Daimler Fleetline 801 (MLK 679L) that was reduced to Contract work by this time.

St Austell in August 1986 and Leyland Olympian 1802 (A752 VAF) is heading to Plymouth on the X1 service whilst Mercedes Benz 608D 136 (C987 HCV) carrying an overall advert for a camera shop pauses before leaving for Newquay.

On to Camborne in July 1986 and Daimler Fleetline 810 (THM 526M) looks like it has been on service 18 recently.

Western National purchased around six Leyland Atlantean's from Southampton City bus in 1988 and these took up the fleet numbers used by the ex London Daimler Fleetline's.

821 (WOW 546J) is seen at Penzance Wherrytown depot in early 1988.

Around five Iveco 49-10's were trialled with Western National in the St Austell area and these took up fleet numbers previously used by the Ford Transit's.

157 (E208 BOD) prepares to leave St Austell bus station on a rainy day in 1988.

Finally a 1971 vintage Bristol VR 548 (VOD 548K) rests at Newquay bus depot in 1988.

Happy New Year everyone and let's hope 2015 as far as the cornish bus scene is concerned is as eventful as 2014.

What a tease you are! Do you know something we do not?!

The routes starting in early February aren't a secret.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
I went on the Truro PR1 yesterday. Apart from the Solars, the 08 reg Citaro and an unbranded E400 were in use.

Meanwhile in Penzance both Varios were in use, on the 6 and 11. Only four more days for this pair!

I did have suspicions. Can now be confirmed.

Cornwall Busways are ceasing operations at New Year due to a dispute with the TC. They have now announced on Facebook First will be taking over their routes subject to TC approval.

Cornwall Busways Facebook said:
It is with regret that we advise you that Cornwall Busways services will cease on 31 December 2014, with the exception of a special timetable on service 30 on 2 January 2015 only. After this date, Cornwall Busways will surrender its Operating Licence and will cease trading. This action is taken as a result of a continuing dispute with the West Of England Traffic Commissioner.

From 5 January 2015, First Cornwall will extend its popular Truro to St Austell service 27 onwards to Bodmin Morrisons via Penwithick, Bugle & Stenalees and maintaining a hourly link through Kerrow Moor, Rosevean & Rosevear Road. First Cornwall, with support from Cornwall Council, have also applied to register a partial replacement for the 30 between Carclaze & St Austell via Boscoppa. Tesco & Asda. The introduction of this service is subject to approval by the West Of England Traffic Commissioner.

Also from 5 January, First Cornwall will introduce a new service 24 between Fowey, Par, St Blazey & St Austell which will cover many parts of service 31 which has been withdrawn with immediate effect.. This service will operate up to every 30 minutes, Mondays to Saturdays.

The whole team at Cornwall Busways would like to thank you all for your custom, support & well wishes over the past 7 months and hope you will support your new services provided by First Cornwall.

There is a further post confirming all staff have been offered a choice of employment with both WG and First offering employment.

So potentially another service for First Kernow in Snozzell. At this rate, they'll need a depot there...... Must get some CB shots next week when I'm down

Remind me what's appearing in Feb. I know the Jan ones - is Feb St. Agnes to Truro?
