Metrolink M5000 Fleet Status

3091 have become latest tram to arrival at Queens Road depot and 3090 tram which only arrival two weeks ago is now in service.

Was watching the Michael Portillo programme on Poland this week.
He visited the Bombardier rolling-stock factory in Wroclaw, and tried his hand at welding.

I was interested to learn from the chat that they manufacture the bogie frames for the Metrolink M5000 trams there.
The trams are assembled across the border at Bautzen in Saxony.

Tram 3092 was on the M62 today! It came over the top of the Pennines about 10:30am.

3091 tram become latest tram to entry into service as this was spotting on Airport line yesterday.

I observed (and travelled on) 3092 on Saturday. A chap I got talking to was expecting 3093 to appear in service any day.

3092 tram came into service on 5th or 6th December, 3093 tram is believe to be in service now as someone report it on Skyscrapercity forums of seeing it on Airport line today.

Also 3013 tram could be entering into service from January as it believe to begin testing to bring this tram back into service after nearly two years since it was in accident on Eccles line.

3013 tram is now return into service and have been doing Bury and Abraham Moss shuttle service.

Long term absentee 3013 has finally returned to service – almost two years to the day since it was involved in a collision with a lorry on the Eccles line. 3013 was used on the Bury to Abraham Moss shuttle service on Tuesday 3rd February and also worked on this circuit the following day as it is reintroduced to service.

Well as 3013 has returned it looks like 3064 has just been involved in a RTA at Exchange Quay.

I'm not sure how much damage has been caused to 3064. I drove past it at Exchange Quay and the only visual damage was to the fibre glass body that covers the coupling but as to internal damage that is another question. So hopefully it won't be out of service for too long.

3077 was involved in an RTA with a BMW yesterday evening.
Damage appears to be to 'skirt' and should be ok quickly, but hard to tell without a closer look.

As for 3077, my lucky tram! Sad times!

So what's the latest gang? Will 3094 be the last M5000 to be delivered, or will we be going up to 3104 as per my 2014 NREA, or 3120 as also suggested?

Now that Blackpool's trams have been built they are back to one a fortnight delivery rate (dropped to half that alternating blackpool/Manchester deliveries) so about another 50 weeks or so

Yes some time ago, I was saying they had finished but that delivery of M5000's slowed while they were being delivered. Otherwise its been pretty much constant delivery rate since the deliveries resumed after a few months break after the first 12.

I think if you went back to the turn of the century you might find instances, the early 20th century tram networks were quite large and busy.
