Congrats noddy1878 for clearing your 315s, shame about the 378 though! Glad to hear you got yourself a winner 67 in the end too!

bb21: Congratulations on clearing your FGW power cars and the 180s, and for that matter your ScotRail 170s!

37038: Nicely done, and I know only too well how that feels regarding missing out on adding something to the books, I found a good few bits I'd missed earlier this year.

Seems everyone's been really cracking on with getting their winners in lately, while I've been fairly laid back and doing very little. I've definitely scored a lot in Sweden of course, but it's certainly getting on for a while since my last UK rail trip (22 days as I type)! Still, I've got a massive trip for my 30th birthday coming up, so I'm hoping to rectify the big gap in my UK cranking lately! <D

As for what I've scored over in Sweden, I'll try to get those numbers added later or tomorrow. Still so much on here I haven't caught up with yet!

I've cleared Hull Trains, 180109 was on the service which stopped at Stevenage this evening :)

Hopefully I will have scored some winners in the 31 services I've managed to take today on a ponder around London.

As for GC, I just need 43480, and unlike Hull trains, I might have to do some actual planning to try and get it (it's not like I can arrive at Kings Cross with 15 minutes before departure and buy a walk-up ticket with the first stop being York, well I can but it will be rather expensive)

Nice :) I still need 4 GC HST power cars and 2 on EC to clear the fleet (except for 013/014/062 of course!), I really need to get over that way in 2015 and sort it out. Hmm, maybe I'll use some of those 262 points I now have on my EC Rewards account to book an EC journey and attempt to clear out some of my requirements. After all, I still need Newark North Gate to Lincoln Central on an HST, and I could do an East Midlands Day Ranger the next day...

*Strokes chin while pondering the possibilities*

Spend your time at Cathedral or in that general area. Usually 23/24 out of the 25 trams out during the day so a few hours means you should see just about all of them! I spent two hours in the pub and spied 23 of them pass the window!

A far more successful couple of hours spent in the Valley Lines than I had imagined. Now cleared all the 143s and need only 1 ATW 142, 1 ATW 153 and 1 ATW 150.

Friday's 'Bradford Flyer' round trip produced:
165109; 166202 & 43198 as winners (plus 158881 pretending to be a FGW unit if that counts)

Saturday:
Crosscountry: 221130
East Coast: 91111; 82218
Southern: 377457
SWT: 450098

Northern:
142029; 142086; 144004; 144005; 144007; 144018; 144023; 158792; 158848; 158860; 158903; 333001; 333011; 333012 & 333013

Sheffield to Meadowhall is a good 2-station group to do some unit bashing, I spent a good hour going back and forward, watching out for any duplicate units, before the York train

Consider yourself lucky. I have struggled to get time off during the week to do Supertram and 114 is still the one bugging me, after four unsuccessful attempts, the latest being today. Even just doing it at weekends, one would think after four attempts it would have been out on at least one of those days.

Okay, can't wait until I have a chance to post my haulage log. Still out travelling around knocking off trains that I need. But currently sat on 333012 going to Shipley......my last 333 for haulage...woo-hoo!!!!!

What next for the 333's? Mileage accumulation? 50 miles on each unit could be my next goal.:D

And it was only a fluke I got it. Was thinking of heading home and just happened to see it in the platform...home can wait.

Congratulations! I will one day know that joy, need to get back over to West Yorkshire again asap! How long did it take you to finish your 333s?

I'm aiming to clear each of the LM 170s for "the magical thou" and made some good progress there today. Finished them all for haulage years ago, and while none of them are yet cleared for the 1,000 miles target, some of them are getting there. Added 110m66c to 170511 today which will have no doubt boosted it up well!

Hi Techniquest,

Its took me since Aug 2013 to clear the 333's but already have 32 miles on 333014 so I think a target for 50 miles for each unit should not be too difficult.

Need some advise guys, I'm heading down London tomorrow and can't make my mind up whether to do FGW 43's, which i still need a load of or head to Fenchurch Street and spend the day in East London, where again a massive amount required and plenty of variety if you head out to Barking.

Too many possibilities, can anyone sell one of them to me?

357s nice and easy, but c2c is very commuter-oriented so you'll want to be around during the peaks, otherwise half the units will be tucked away in the depot - I know this goes for most operators, but 17tph featuring several 12-car services versus 8tph with mostly 4s or some 8s, makes a big difference :)
Barking can be a bit tricky to spot because you have 4 platforms to deal with that aren't all next to each other - often you'll find underground services get in your way. Plus it's a very busy station, could be a bit awkward during peak.

You might perhaps be better off camping out somewhere like Limehouse or West Ham at the far end of the platforms? All services run through them both pretty much, and there's nothing to obscure your view.

As for the 43s - I hope you enjoy trying to capture both ends of really rather long trains. I find capturing numbers from both ends of an HST to be very tedious, and don't often bother :(

We have an end date for the HSTs (some at least) in view, but are 357s going any time soon?

HSTs to be treated with priority I think. Good luck though as I think the word "tedious" is definitely fitting.

Unfortunately why I do have the benefit of getting out a bit as part of my work, it doesn't permit me to have day-long excursions just for this, so everything I bag is usually for legitimate travel purposes (or minor detours to such) - with that in mind, everything apart from perhaps 315s (which I have easy access to) that's due for replacement in the next decade and isn't a tiny fleet I've decided not to pursue for 100% coverage. It'd be nice to do what I can, but it's just too much unfortunately. Even though there's still a long way to go yet I'm not really all that sure I'll get every 92TS either, since there's so damn many! I currently have 170 or so recorded, which seems good at first until I realise that's less than half :(
Same goes for the D78s really. I use them reasonably often, but given there's only a couple of years to go, having only got about 90 of them, I can't see me getting all of the remaining 60.

Getting 100% on the 357s was a no-brainer for me as I used to use them every day for work. Likewise 321s and 360/1s on the alternate route home, so I've not done them all but I've made solid progress - I think I'm at about 70 and 19 respectively. Going to need to start memorising the last couple to look out for! :)

This line connects Wrexham and Deeside with Bidston where connections are made with stations to Liverpool Central. The line is operated by Arriva Trains Wales from their Chester depot. It has an hourly service which requires 2 x Class 150s. Merseyside ENC passes are accepted as far as the last station in the county which is Heswall. However this station is in a residential area with little facilities. It is therefore getting a £1 return over the boundary to Neston were there is both a Sainsburys and an Aldi. My interest in the line is that I still need to ride 150278/81/83.
