I notice people always complain about taxpayers money being 'wasted' on activists and so called benefit thieves, but never say a thing about the biggest hole in the taxpayers pocket and that's paying large subsidies to foreign companies owning the countries infrastructure, that's most likely to end up in the pockets of shareholders or a foreign government anyway.

For the record, I'm not a greenpeace supporter or activist, merely annoyed with the ironies of the 'system'.

One must consider the number of elderly people whose home is sold in order to fund their care home costs until the £23,XXX amount of assets level is reached that then brings in national body funding. I know of a number of such cases in the BUPA nursing care homes where the care fees are between £3500-£4000 per month, which certainly reduces bank balances very quickly indeed.

Having just had the Sponsored post from Greenpeace I decided to reply

Maybe those that don't approve of coal should pay for Ecotricity or one of the other Renewable only suppliers - that would elicit change when the big six see their customers leave them. Maybe read the back of your bill and see where your power comes from (ie EDF is mostly Nuclear so are low carbon but high in other nasties)

Will be interested to see what their reply to that is.

The Driver should have continued at caution (in case there was some danger he would be able to stop) and driven through the model bear to **** them off!

Surely this is trespassing and destruction of property, so not peaceful and I highly doubt they told the police before they were doing it, as to give them notice?

If I ran an energy company, I'd be announcing the imminent introduction of a "rail security surcharge" on energy bills. That alone would probably be enough to see an outraged general public kicking down Greenpeace's front door, and they'd soon knock it off.

Not to mention it would have taken these morons about 5 seconds to climb onto the wagons and, although I wouldnt care if it killed them all, the driver is then responsible for these idiots safety (thanks to Cherie Blair for that one ) and if any of these idiots was injured then the driver would have been the one in Court!

There's really no need for the driver to do anything rash as has been suggested. The coal won't be upset if it arrives a day late, nor is it a big deal if the train is parked on the branch line for a while.

The actual cost of this and similar incidents is a rounding error, there's no basis for such a surcharge.

If the seller sold the movement as CIP then the seller will claim on Schenkers insurance (carriage, insurance, paid), if its Ex Works then the buyer would either claim on Schenkers insurance if they took it out, if not the power station will either claim on their company insurance or not all, suppose I depends on the value and excess
