Quatro was probably the most tastiest fruit drink ever!! I remember when I was 13 after a hot afternoon of running up and down the platforms at Crewe station train spotting I settled down for a can of this.

What other things do we all remember then? Old TV programmes, toys, sweets or anything that could be associated with these great days.

I shall revisit a discussion my friends and I were having the other day.

I remember when video games were about gameplay rather than graphics. Developers required more creativity to make up for the short comings of the systems of the time (even with the advent of 8-bit and 16-bit consoles). How many modern games will make as much of an impact as the great classics? Most of them fizzle out within a month or two.

• SMTV live with Pokemon, Challenge Ant and Wonky Donkey
• Places to play football outdoors
• Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (PINGAS!)
• Computer games where gameplay and plot have higher focus than graphics and online
• Playing British Bulldog on the school playground

Hi,

I must be ancient reading what has been written.

I remember travelling overnight on A Friday from Glasgow Central to London Euston, a journey that we made quite often, and home overnight Saturday. When the train stopped at Carlisle and the "Wheel Tappers" performed their task, we use to run to the drinks machine where you could buy an ice cold carton of milk or orange for 6d.

Knight Rider, Happy Days and all those game shows were naff.

The Eagle and Lion as two comics I was bought every week
Listening to "Journey into Space" episodes on the radio
Watching "Quatermass and The Pit" on 415 line black and white television
Traditional-style pork pies sold in the refreshment room on platform 12 at Manchester Victoria station

Station Totems. (I wish I had seen the future prices of these. I would have stripped Collectors Corner in Euston of as many as possible).

Collectors corner was fantastic, when it moved to York it was never the same, most of the good stuff had already gone.

I had loads of totems and various cast iron signs, when I moved away my mother threw out "all that old tat in the shed"

I only have one totem left now Mossley.

(pedant mode on)/ actually it was 405 lines, with younger eyes, one could count every one of them, plus younger ears could easily hear the 10.125 KHz whistle in the corner of the room.(pedant mode off)

I just about remember Journey Into Space (at 7:31 pm). Also, 'Educating Archie'. What a genius Peter Brough was, - building a showbiz career on ventriloquism on the radio! mmmm....

From someone else also in pedant mode, Iam sure the Hi-Frequency whistle came with the introduction of the 625 Line UHF transmissions (BBC 2), at least that's when I first noticed it.
