You bought something from there?? It's horribly overpriced!

It was either that or get it on the train. May as well given my platform wasn't even up yet. And remember, 80p for a HUGE slab of Galaxy: that's a good price anywhere!

There's a £-stretcher near the Bridges which sells dirt cheap chocolate. A newsagent on Cockburn Street, Waterloo Place and opposite St James. I'm horrified by prices of anything sold on stations.

...but I didn't have that long to wait  Thanks for the tips, though. Generally, other than the odd chocolate bar here and there, I only ever buy tea on trains or at stations; although I use Millies Cookies. If they don't give you a receipt, it's free! And the ones at GLC are a tad forgetful...

Ah right. I always seem to have ages on connections. When I had a 40 minute wait at Retford on a daily basis last summer I found a place round the corner which did lovely hot chocolate for a fraction of the price of the Doncaster cafe.

The chocolate is dirt cheap because it is dirt.

Station prices are terrible (not as bad with a BiTE) but still, it saves a walk into a city centre that you don't know that well. (In most cases for me at least. Although I avoid station shops like the plague)

I had a 59 minute wait at "What's-it-called? Cumbernauld!" once, and that was hell. The station's in the middle of no-where! No-where near Cumbernauld anyway.

Mine was 20 minutes (extended by 15 due to the HST getting stuck at a points failure :( ), so I thought I'd stay in the station and a know my way around it better than I do Princess Street.

If you're buying tea, though, it's best to wait 'till you're on the train. You can save over a pound!

Unfortunately, the reliability of GNER catering has left a lot to be desired, of late. And if they think I'm paying £1 for a can of coke I can buy elsewhere for 35p...

35p for a can of Coke?! Where?! That price is unheard of in this day and age in this part of the world. Hell, it is everywhere I've been!

Didn't realise it was Lent yet. I tend to look at chocolate as my option. Heck, for this year I'm making it TWO things:

1) Chocolate (not eaten any today so it still counts)
2) Valenta bashing (won't be too hard now!)

As for the fact you can ease the giving on Sundays, never ever knew that!

They're 29p in one of the shops I go to for lunch. Proper stuff too, not those dodgy Turkish cans you get in some places.

A shop in Dalry has them for 35p. Tesco in Donny did them for 36p until last year.

Accidentally forgot it was Lent and had a KitKat earlier. Oh well, that's that one failed (as is usual!), will I manage to avoid Valenta bashing for Lent? The odds are highly against me on that one! :p

Nothing, because religion is for people who wear woolly jumpers in beige and have large beards and terrible, terrible cars.

Yes, but that doesn't mean we can't steal the festivals and traditions :D

I will give up shouting abuse at numpty signalman who can't regulate for toffee. It does mean however I can still shout abuse at all the good ones though, although for no apparent reason as they are good. But hey, sacrifices & all that. ;)

I won't repeat here what a Central driver said to me about Arriva drivers between Shrewsbury and Birmingham driving like old ladies and being caught up by all stations stoppers between Telford and Wolverhampton if they're running 10 behind then!
