Does anyone know which East Coast services which are diverted via Carlisle on October 18th will be 91+DVTs so they will be dragged by a class 67?
'Ever' is a long time, so yes it'll probably get done. In the near future, don't hold your breath. Is it likely that this route will ever be electrified?
AFAIA
Saturdays 4th,11th & 18th October
1E06 0650 Glasgow Central-London Kings Cross
1S13 1100 Kings Cross-Edinburgh
1E27 1839 Edinburgh-Newcastle
Sundays 5th,12th and 19th October
1S21 1415 Kings X-Glasgow Central
No diverted HSTs then? As one year if I recall they had both 91s being dragged and HSTs working the diversion.
Will the diverts call at Carlisle? Might be a reason to venture up there on a Saturday
Cheers
That one runs Glasgow-Carstairs-Edinburgh and then comes back to Carstairs on the diversion...
I think that's the quickest way to access the WCML from Edinburgh.

It is, but would it not have been easier to start later from Glasgow and "jump" Edinburgh (i.e go straight Glasgow-Carstairs-Carlisle) with passengers advised to use/booked on connecting scheduled WCML services?
.
The question was for 91s.No diverted HSTs then? As one year if I recall they had both 91s being dragged and HSTs working the diversion.
Yes, as far as I know they all do.Will the diverts call at Carlisle? Might be a reason to venture up there on a Saturday

Easier? For who? The railway supposedly exists, and subsidised to, provide a convenient service for customersIt is, but would it not have been easier to start later from Glasgow and "jump" Edinburgh (i.e go straight Glasgow-Carstairs-Carlisle) with passengers advised to use/booked on connecting scheduled WCML services?
