Is that valid on all Arriva Trains Wales Services in Cardiff?

For four days the above is a better deal.I see you have an interest in buses,no wonder you like 142s![]()
I stayed at a hotel in Cardiff a few years ago "The Big Sleep", Bute Terrace it overlooks the bridge that carries the 142s over the main line,if you book the correct room, when I stayed they were shunting 142s a dozen at a time linked up all night to I presume Canton from Queen St area. It was not by choice my room overlooked the wheel noise from the 142s on the bridge. However the late night HSTs broke the monotony.
I had my room burgled there in 2007 never stayed there again. The Sleeperz is right next to Cardiff Central and £55 a night with the Great Western Wetherspoons right opposite. You'll get good views from there.
Pacers tend not to be on so many of the Merthyr to Bridgend via VOG trains but you 'll see them on all the others. The Queen St To the Bay branch had a 153 on it this Saturday gone but they'd swapped it for a Pacer by lunchtime due to crowds going down Bay for food and craft fair and extreme sailing event.
From personal experience the lines around Cardiff that are more pacer heavy are Bargoed/Rhymney - Penarth, Treherbert - Cardiff Central and Aberdare - Barry Island. The Merthyr - Bridgend train does tend to be a 150 more often than not. There is an odd Pacer working between Maesteg and Cheltenham Spa via. Cardiff. Also they occasionally they find themselves in West Wales!

Thanks for your help!![]()
The easiest way to clock up pacer mileage is to shuttle between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central.
You simply get off at one, swap platform sides then get on the next one, bounce, bounce, bounce, repeat.![]()
It depends what exactly you're wanting to get out of this trip - but you can comfortably do the Valley Lines in a day or day and a half if you want some more time between trips. I'm thinking that 4 days in a row might get a bit dull - so maybe consider taking a trip round via the Heart of Wales line from Swansea one day?
Am told some Northern Rail 142 Class's only stay in Yorkshire, does anyone know what Units these are?
