Thankfully there's the world cup to keep me occupied, followed by a month off work early August.

Does anyone have the slightest indication, when/if courses will be allocated? I know we're all in the same position but some appear to have inside info, even if its a definitely not this year, would be helpful! Cheers

Thanks anyway, just trying to plan for the kids holidays, don't mind either way but could do with knowing, as I'm sure we all could! Oh well back to obsessively switching between my northern login and this forum!! Ha

Hi spoke to them about a week or so ago. No change in my status. Nothing planned, in terms of courses for next 6 to 8 weeks. She did say they should have a better idea in a few weeks, when the forecast for the next few months has been done.

This is what I was told on the phone anyway

I'm external. Its sod law that the opportunity came up now. I had my mind set that I wouldn't receive a call until after the wedding. Fingers crossed my wedding will be awesome and I can forget out the job until I get back. Thanks everyone

I agree, you've done well to get a place. I'm sure you being open and honest with them is better than just taking it and letting them know mid training.

Don't let it taint your honeymoon and enjoy your wedding. You've made the eight choice and I'm sure you'll definitely be on the next course.

Surely you can postpone the honeymoon and take the up the role.Most TOCs give you annual leave inside the training programme.
You may not get another chance and if it was me I would move the honeymoon and get stuck into what is a much sought after and hard job to get.

Re-arrange the honeymoon? I'll let you tell my other half that whilst I start digging your grave . Don't get me wrong, I want the job. Especially as I'm currently not working. Hopefully my chance will come again. In fact I know it will.

Stay positive people. The cogs are turning at Northern rail. Granted there not moving quickly but things are happening.

I too would be cancelling,not a chance anything would prevent me taking up employment,especially a holiday.

For your sake,i hope Northern sympathise,however,if I were in recruitment i'd be thinking others might be more thankful.

I sympathise with you Whatapratt, a golden opportunity for one of the most sought after jobs there currently is. You have to do what's right and if I was in HR I would be thinking that your a honest genuine man who puts his family first.
