No 172s have sideways seats.Upon Avon? Or Stratford London? Are the seats sideways?
PS do they have guards
All Chiltern services are DOO.
Are they,
My ticket has been checked on the 67s when I went to Birmingham and London from Leamington Spa.
Also I have been checked from Bicester North to Leamington Spa on a CR 168.

I don't understand the 'not appropriate' bit in the OP. They have 2+2 seating, 100 mph, toilets - surely they are as appropriate if not better than a 165?
DOO means the driver releases and closes the doors not the conductor/train manager. That doesn't mean the driver is the only rail staff on board.
If Chiltern passengers aren't happy travelling on 172s then we'll have them up North, especially as you'll be taking our 170/3s.
Oh ok,
I thought DOO meant Driver Only Operated, meaning that it would only be driver and passengers.
Apparently now we aren't planning to take the 170/3s and make the Oxford trains be 165s.
