On a train somewhere in Europe
Had two very unexpected (and welcome) winners yesterday at Swanage, 34028 "Eddystone" which was removed at Swanage home signal for D3591 to drag the train into the station. Had exactly the same scenario with 08436 less than a month ago, what are the chances of getting that twice within weeks with different locos; my jampot runneth over :D More than makes up for not getting "Tangmere" on the "Swanage Belle" yesterday so I could clear it for 1,000 miles.

Cleared 2 of my last 3 377s, so very happy with that. Annoyingly though I did see my last unit but it was too late as it as going to the depot for the evening.

That's well harsh! Obviously that doesn't include the /7s I guess?

Nothing new, yet, for me since Tuesday but I am lining up a possible trip for the 16th to hopefully score one of the most annoying gaps in my NREA. Some of you will know what I refer to...

No I haven't counted them as they aren't in service yet. They should be relatively easy to get once they're in service too.

3 new locos for me last weekend. Firstly 12088 at the Aln Valley Railway, followed by ex MOD shunters 01530 and 01545 (they have TOPS numbers so count!) at the Wensleydale Railway on the charter I helped to organise there. Pic of 01545 on some rare track at Castle Hills cane be found by clicking here.

A bit of catching up to do for me.

6/6/14

47501 (Cleared for 1000 miles) York-Avimore-Cramilngton
47853 (Cleared for 950 miles) York-Avimore-Darlington
43239 (New) Darlington-York
43299 (New) Darlington-York

7/6/14

37264 (Cleared for 100 miles) Pickering-Grosmont
61034 steam (New) Grosmont-Whitby-Grosmont
D 7628 (Cleared for 125 miles) Grosmont-Whitby+Grosmont-Goathland
D 5061 (Cleared for 100 miles) Goathland-Pickering

47501 failed at Cramilngton and D 7628 failed at Goathland so D 5061 came to the rescue.

Were the seats dusty on 444009?

I was on it on Sunday and the seats looked like they had been in storage for years.

Finally got round to sorting out the Belgian moves from my BeNeLux Interrail in March, might head back over later in the year so the list may grow! The AM08s aren't THAT bad! Better ambience than the AM62s, not noise wise obviously but I felt safer on AM08s than AM62s!

Lots of scores there, and when you played Brussels Bingo what were your preferred leaps? Midi-Central, Central-Nord or Nord-Midi? Sure can score a lot on those leaps!

A probable DB 101 (it was in reverse formation so arrived Driving Trailer First at Leipzig and I wasn't dragging the cases up to look at Berlin Hbf when I needed to get the airport bus)

I generally found that dropping back at Central in both directions worked best, the 27 + deckers + 27 + deckers turns all seem to go South at once!

Back on topic, I've worked out Luxembourg now (which was a lot less successful due to late running and missed connections!):

Was on a course for work in Walsall on Thursday that was finished for lunch so I though I would take advantage of the afternoon and have a roam in the West Midlands area and copped the following for haulages:

Cheers 317666, aye it can be challenging getting the 27s!

What moves were you on in Luxembourg? Quite a fascinating little system there, although my branch line trip on a 2000 was dull. Like the 3000s and to a lesser extent the 4000s, although it should be said the 2200s are decent for EMUs too :)

That's the 444s, and the SWT fleet complete. Just to wait for some more 458/5s to arrive now.

After scoring 11057/8 and 11087/8, only one more 2009 stock unit is now required for me.

Did you get both the original 11001/2 and 11003/4? the current ones are not the ones first built thus ( unless they re-used the underframes... never been able to get an answer on that aspect... ).

I think they've been out since earlier this week - should be on the 377/7 thread within the last couple of pages.

I had 11001 fairly early on so not sure whether that was early enough.

11003/4 is the one I am still missing. :(

16th June 2014 they started, I had 377704 on its first passenger service day, on its third working of the day (would have been on the second, but I was way too busy on the Met at the time) :D

TEW: Congratulations, that's quite the huge fleet to get through with SWT, quite jealous! I've a long way to go on that lot myself, I seriously doubt I'll make it through the 455s before any renumbering/withdrawals!

My own list then since my post the other day, be warned this is quite a lengthy list. I can only imagine how beast it would have been if I could have stayed out in London all day!

16th June 2014

BK58 URL (Arriva Greenline)

Metropolitan Line:
21011/21012
21005/21006
21025/21026
21035/21036
21049/21050
21323/21324
21327/21328

Jubilee Line:
96038
96042
96047
96053
96060
96067

Central Line (and boy ain't it difficult writing to type the relevant numbers into a memopad file on your phone while the trains race into the stations! I will hopefully be more prepared for that next time...):
92074
91093
93094
92107
92109
91223
91253
91263
93406
93410
93426
92440

Northern Line:
51595
51715 (not many I know, to be fair I only did one leap from Moorgate to Old Street on the Northern)

Victoria Line:
11030
11041
11042
11055
11056 (still got a lot of 2009 stock to go, but I must be getting there slowly as I managed to find dud sets a lot too. Not overly surprising I suppose since the Victoria is my most used LU line)

Back on the mainline then:

165018
172008 (FINALLY got that infernal 172/0! Just 2 more 172/1s to get to clear the class)
313032
313045
313062
377625
377704 (on its first passenger service day! :D)
465904
465922

A very successful 8 hours there, and I have now finally, finally finished the LU network :D Can't wait to re-visit London and have another big clearout, next though is a trip around Kent which should give me a massive clearout there. It'll take a few more trips to Kent yet to get all the stations done but I hope to score a few 395s for the first time in ages and get a truckload of 375s and 465s scored too. Only another month and 9 days until that monster of a trip begins! <D

Some tips when noting Central line stock numbers as they enter a station.
Position yourself about where the front of the seventh car will stop, and using the old fashioned pen & paper method, just scribble down the last 3 digits of each 2 car set. Always worked for me.
