As far as I've heard there is 12 on Junes drivers course at Leeds - 11 for Leeds and one for skipton.

Confirmed driver courses are 2nd June and 22nd July. Hopefully some will hear in a few weeks. Firmly to the back of my mind until I hear something. That said I do check here most days

Perhaps some people are getting confused between drivers courses running in Bolton and in Leeds, and also guards courses running in both places.

I have been told the next Guards course in Leeds is penciled in for 4th August, is the general rule that a role has to become vacant/be created before an applicant can be offered a job?

If my assumption is correct thats why I'm glad to hear a Conductor from Skipton is going on a driver's course in June and another Skipton Conductor is retiring a few day's before the August Guards course, meaning two places need to be filled?

it's the Leeds course! I think something like 2nd June. Then there's supposed to be another one at Leeds In September but I haven't heard how many places on that, possibly not decided yet. I'm not sure on Bolton courses! Fingers crossed for you it works out!

Hard to say really, there's a few of us in the talent pool in the north west. Don't really know about the north east tbh. As the numbers in the pool dwindle down, they recruit in numbers to top up the pool.

Keep checking the northern site, keep checking this forum too. I'm sure within the next few months they'll put some on.

Anybody else received an email today? i have just received an email to state that they have assessed the train crew requirement for the conductor places and there is no vacancies at Manchester at the minute....gutted guessing the dream is over!

Don't panic your in the pool that's all, requirements change all the time, you have passed everything so sit back and wait, it could be a few months but it will be worth it in the end

Yes, good advice from Louby. Don't expect things to happen overnight. You just need to be patient, I've been waiting a couple of months, some people longer.

It does seem to give you hope that things move quickly by how quick the assessment process goes. Each week you do another stage.......then it slows right down to a sit tight email once a month or so.

Have a look on the site, people do get employed after waiting around 6 months.

Try putting it to the back of your mind until you get the call.

I've been in the pool for trainee driver since end of feb, got past the frustration and know there will be courses coming up, this year or next year it will be worth the wait

Its just frustrating thats all as i really want to get on and start! i can see it going passed the 6 months stage and me having to be reinterviewed, that would be just my luck! Does this mean that all the conductor courses have now been filled then?

I'm also in the pool applied same time as Louby, as she says frustrating at first but past it now. Actually be happy with a September course now so I can have a holiday in august ha.

Only HR know that answer I'm afraid. Don't get too disheartened. Happens to everyone, we know the frustration, just need to be patient. We won't be forgot about, it doesn't seem like it now but your in a good position, you passed everything. You have passed everything required.

This forum is like group therapy cos were all in the same boat, nothing to say cos I've been waiting longer you won't get the call before me, two different roles.

I have also heard there is another drivers course to start in novemeber At Leeds, to add to the ones due to start June and September originally! Hang in there it's worth the wait !

Noticed on twitter they are still experiencing delays and cancellation due to train crew being unavailable so we are needed, we'll get there
