I'm jealous!

I can hear trains from my house, but not see them. :(

Believe me, it's not fun when at 3am a bloody 66 storms through with several thousand tonnes of coal! #earthquake

But apart from that, it's pretty cool! Just need a wider variety of stock. At the moment it's mainly 150s, 153s, 158s, 175s and HSTs, and the occasional 142/143.

Would like to see some Voyagers or Turbostars!

I have some observations from today too, although they're basically exactly the same as the ones above, only between 5 and now.

The 1855 Carmarthen to Cardiff is due to go past me any time soon, which is normally a pair of 150s or a 150 and a 153, so that'll probably be the last one for tonight now as it's starting to get dark so won't see unit numbers now :(

My house :) which is about two miles west of Cardiff Central.

The South Wales Main Line is practically my back garden

Wow, I am on a pair of narrow boas and my mooring is about 6 miles from any railway

I look forward to it!

0425 Holyhead to Cardiff is normally a 3-car. Also nice to see 175113 back following its incident at Shrewsbury!

For me so far, I have the following:

Monday 14th April 2014:
2R06 1002 Penarth to Rhymney: 150240
2L49 0901 Gloucester to Maesteg: 142083
2E03 0659 Pembroke Dock to Newport / 1B96 1040 Newport to Fishguard Harbrour: 150267
2C15 1004 Radyr to Coryton: 143608
1L48 0928 Swansea to London Paddington: 43135/43056
1F11 1030 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour: 158958
2N11 1035 Cardiff Central to Ebbw Vale Parkway: 150213
1V47 0807 Manchester Piccadilly to Paignton: 220024 (nice and busy with people going down south for Easter!)
1S43 0628 Penzance to Glasgow Central: 221132

Beyond excited for my little trip next Monday. I reckon I'll have at least 100 sightings!

Also, PHILIPE, did you notice that Headcodes.info went down again briefly over the weekend?!

Just picked the last comment up. I actually E-Mailed the Webmaster who was unaware it was down. He responded very quickly and just a quick fix needed. I have retained his E-Mail address in my Address Book due to difficulties in the past of finding out info if down.

Ah well done. Happy days.

Do you happen to know why the 1530 ex-Manchester now only goes to Carmarthen instead of Pembroke Dock.

Looking over a TOPS list and using Real Time Trains, I think it should have been 70017 on 4O27 Garston to Southampton
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H66891/2014/04/12/advanced

I have never been to Didcot, so don't have much knowledge of the area, but it doesn't seem to have been booked through the station. Although as it did pass North Jn 3 early but then passed East Jn 4 late, it may have gone through the station??

Thanks for the reply. It did not pass through the station, it used the avoiding line which is almost adjacent to the eastern end of the station platforms. I attach the photo.

Yes 4O27. I visit Didcot about once every 2 months. I wasn't there that day but I know it was 4O27. Anyway that is a really good photo.

Here is about 10 minutes at Leamington Spa this morning as I was in town so I just popped to the station.

Hope you've enjoyed the visit to the UK's railways, hope to one day sample the Spanish network :)
I did. back to my old haunts for a couple of weeks, with a day at Didcot and a day at Worting.
BTW, this is an excellent idea for a thread, I only found it after asking (and getting an answer) about a class 70 working on another thread.
I am on the class 68 threads a lot because I get to see them during the construction and testing processes if they happen to be outside when I am there. Those threads have links to my pictures.
In my part of Spain we have 3 gauges, all electrified, though some freight is diesel-hauled and a lot of broad-gauge passenger services are still loco-hauled, mostly with class 252 electrics but occasionally class 334 diesels.

A few from today so far:

22/04/2014

175008 1521 Cardiff Central-Holyhead
175006 1430 Manchester Piccadilly-Milford Haven
150105 1640 Hereford-Birmingham New Street (should do 1759 BHM-GMV next I think-typical it's out now when I'm already on a train to Cardiff!)
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Got plenty more observations to add to this but I'm low on charge so they'll come later.

However, in the interim, could someone please tell me where 150235 was at approximately 1730 today (22/04/2014) as I never did find it today and really curious if I simply missed it on the Valleys. Thanks in advance :)

Later on I am going to that park on the line between Leamington Spa and Coventry so hopefully I will have a few observations.

Happy St. George's Day everyone.

So it's been a while but finally I updated my blog with recent sightings and haulage.

Also took a new line for me ... see the blog for details

EDIT DanTrainMan, how do you do those links?

It's quite hard to explain.

If you quote mine, you can see how it's done :)

Metrolink Monday 21st April 2014:

Eccles to Ashton via MediaCity and Piccadilly:
3063, 3067, 3068, 3069, 3073, 3074, 3076, 3078

Rochdale to East Didsbury via Market Street:
3001, 3005, 3015, 3019, 3020, 3030, 3032, 3036, 3056

Bury to Altrincham via Market Street:
3004/3026, 3008, 3018/3037, 3025/3041, 3031/3060, 3042, 3051, 3053, 3058/3059

3074 worked the 1843 Eccles to Ashton service. With Manchester City vs West Bromwich at the Etihad Stadium, services were rammed. 3074 left Piccadilly Gardens absolutely rammed to the rafters! I wanted to get this to Piccadilly but it was quicker to walk!

I don't understand.

On my post where all of my observations are, if you click on 'quote' at the bottom right of my post, you can see how I've typed my hyperlinks. Copy and paste an example and you can see how it works. You need to copy the hyperlink in between an open and closed URL link.
