NOTE: All newspapers listed are in national circulation EVERY DAY, hence there being no other option.

I don't really read any regularly although I'll buy the i if faced with a weekend shift (I take it the poll is forthcoming )

I have a subscription for The Independent which means I only pay £5 per week for all seven issues (includes IOS).

Were it not for that saving I would not purchase a daily newspaper, and if I could get it for the same price I would choose The Guardian. The price of Quality Papers has gone through the roof in the last few years, way above the rate of inflation- £1.60 for the Guardian when it was only 80p a few years ago.

I will read (not buy) any other publication from The Daily Sport to the FT if they are left lying around.

I gave up reading daily / Sunday newspapers in the 1980s. I was fed up with reading about "marvellous" Thatcher, and decided that with limited spare time, there were more interesting things to read. I glance at the Metro if there is a copy on the bus, but would hardly call it a favourite - too much obsession with minor "nonentity celebrities".

Only regular papers I read are the free local papers, St. Helens Reporter & St. Helens Star - assuming they bother to deliver a copy......

I looked and looked for the only thing I read which even remotely resembles a newspaper, certainly, there are newsagents in Newcastle and London who know me well enough of hand a copy to me without my asking, but I couldn't find it's title in the list.

I don't read newspapers very often, but as I am a news and information junkie, I do scan several websites each day to get my daily dose of news.

I read the Guardian as broadly speaking it is the one that I agree with politically. In order that I get an alternative view I read my dads copy of the Daily Mail (He doesn't actually seem to read it himself, ha ha). I won't touch The Sun for personal reasons but have nothing against people who do.

Why has the name of the Daily Mirror suddenly gained a final "r" in its title in the poll ?

It is only The Guardian in italics on my screen, is it connected to the one you voted for perhaps? I'm guessing the Daily Mirror is a typo. Ha ha.

I'll skim through the Metro on days I'm working, unless there aren't any on any of my buses during the day.

Ha ha, don't worry about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and choice of newspaper. I've given myself away if I hadn't already.

I like several newspapers.

My political views are more greatly espoused in 'The Daily Telegraph', but I often read 'The Guardian' so I can get a balance. It allows me to understand the mind of the enemy more closely.

On 'Budget Days', or in the midst of important events in finance and banking, I read the Financial Times. If I want a weekend paper, I always get the FT.

I never buy the Daily Mail, but I do read their website whenever I feel like a laugh.

Although newspaper wise I would say I read the Northern Echo. Sadly only on line these days as they don’t stock it in MK.

Buy the Sun every day and sometimes the I if the Sun isnt in. I clicked on Metro as a vote for the Evening Standard which I pick up every day on the way home.
