At least it happened before it got here, which means we can blame the foreigners (seems to be a theme today!) They're even taking jobs from British graffiti artists now!
Obviously been done in Germany. Who picks up the bill for the respray?

Shouldn't all of this discussion really go to the 350 thread?
Last I heard the Germans wanted to splash out on drones to patrol depots but their privacy/unmanned vehicles laws prevented it.
Good point, and even better if there was only a single 350 thread, even once you have got to the 'rolling stock' section of the forum...
What exactly was done on the trackwork on platforms 5 and 6 ?

I had a quick tour around all the Phase 2 routes today on a Lancashire Day Ranger. Although a lot has been done over the Christams/New year blockade in the ManVic-Ordsall area, as described on here, it seems to me that there is an awful lot of work still to do between Wigan/Earlestown and Edge Hill if it is all to be powered up by Dec 2014! It took ~3 years to do the 15 miles of the Chat Moss Line and there does not appear to be a great deal of progress on the rest since last summer! Why is the installation so patchy/haphazard and unsystematic? i.e. stretches with bases/steelwork in place but with so many gaps and uncompleted bits and pieces, rather than working continuously from A to B? No sign of any wiring, or the prospect of any, since the completion of Stage 1 several months ago.
To be honest does it matter how quickly the overheads get put up? NR may have a target date of December 2014, but unless I have missed something Northern won't have any electrics to run on it for a good few years until the 319's have been released and refurbished.
You have missed something. Northern are getting six 319s from FCC in December (and then a bunch more when the 387s start appearing).
