It is reported that there was a track circuit failure at Ardwick Junction that affected services in that area.

I though 350401 was still the only 350/4 currently in the UK?

Well its good to hear about a new electric train on a new bit of electrified railway however the last major electrification scheme was some 20 years ago and the amount of electrification that's been done between then and now has been a scandal really.
Of course the extra capacity of 37 standard class seats is clearly to be welcomed along with the 185 cascade, but its a pity it couldn't have been done in style with a more intercity style train with greater capacity, rather what we have actually got which still gives a sense of penny pinching and under investment.

350401 and 350403 are both in grey and should be on their way back from Glasgow now.

The electrified line from Manchester to the WCML at Newton le Willows is only around half the distance of (Edinburgh) Haymarket to Drumgelloch
I don't think anyone honestly expects 350/4s to be the stock used on this service in a few years time - they were introduced because they were the one thing that could be procured at short notice - once we've seen how passenger numbers respond to the extra capacity we'll see something more suitable to replace them.

Ah, so they skipped 350402 for now then?
Disappointed that TPE livery wasn't applied though.

I know 350401 came into the UK last month, but heard nothing about 350402 and 350403 arriving here.
Yes but the point is its the start of a much bigger scheme, while the amount of electrification done since the last BR scheme's like the Aire Valley electrification of the early 90's has been extremely poor.
No the 350's probably wont be on that route long term although whether they will be replaced by anything significantly more suitable or higher capacity is debatable.

Well the return Glasgow -Manchester operated by these babies was supposed to pass Broughton and Barton about 13.38. It is 14.00 and I am cold and wet and it has still not passed.
According to RTT, the train has just passed Tebay, running 57 minutes late.

A large amount of new OHLE steelwork has gone up east of Ordsall Lane, towards Salford Central.
Difficult to see how far it goes towards Victoria.

It was on time at Abington but then lost time by Lockerbie.

New grey livery?? It ain't for starters and it's the delivery pre livery finish just like the 350/1's and the 350/2's before they eventually got put into LM livery after (I think) a couple of years being in service.
