How well are the TPE services from Scotland loading at Preston and Wigan southbound on their new route? Much new business at Wigan NW?
How are the Bolton-Manchester commuters managing (or should I say struggling?)??
Probably will be more of an issue for Bolton commuters from May when ALL the anglo-scottish services go electric via Wigan.
Nope. First one is the 0700 Airport - Glasgow and the 1107 return on the 30th.
Thought it was starting at Piccadilly due to engineering works?

However shortly these arguments are destined to become academic as they get to grips with electrifying from Euxton Junction to Ordsall Lane.
I've boarded four times at Wigan so far. Only got a seat twice.
Wasn't that because of scheduled engineering work on the ChorleyDoes anyone remember the Barrow services stopping at Wigan on Sundays, around 2006-07? Think they stopped at Bolton but didn't serve Chorley. Was this just a one-two year trial and were the trains busier than the ones through Chorley? I think it stopped with the new December 2007 timetable when TPE started running to Scotland.

May have been scheduled engineering work that appears in the timetable, of course (although it'd be unusual for it to apply for so long).
Yes there is a train every 7 mins or so from Bolton to Manchester, pitty you can never get a seat on them.Trains, cattle trucks more like!!!
Which is no worse than any other peak train which is situated 20 mins or so from a main rail station.....be it Manchester Leeds or any of the London stations.
Removing artificial suppression on season ticket prices would go a long way to alleviating this....
