Is it possible to do any kind of changeover on a London Underground-issued Zones 1-2 Travelcard to a Zones 1-5 Travelcard?
Does this change for 18+ Oyster cards?

Is it possible to get a changeover travelcard issued by a TOC, e.g. Southern or South West Trains? And are there any TOCs that issue travelcards on Oyster or are they still all in the world of paper tickets?
Reason for asking is that my son is starting work in London soon and will initially need a zones 1-4 travelcard for about 8 months before he moves house when he is likely to need something such as a zones 2-4 or zones 2-5 travelcard. Buying monthly/weekly/odd period tickets is not really a peferred option as he wants to take advantage of his employers season ticket loans which are restricted to annual tickets and also does not know when/where he will be moving house (thus ruling out odd period tickets).

Yes both of these are possible if you find a clerk willing and able to do it. I am only aware of one clerk meeting this description, who works for Chiltern Railways.

Chiltern doesn't sell Oyster products anywhere elseBased at Marylebone? I think I know who you mean and he is an excellent clerk.

That's news to me! Thanks for the post. The form seems to state it is only for passengers wanting to add more zones rather than remove them, but that's what's needed here.Yep. In TfL parlance it's a ‘change of availability’.

Just to make your lives more interesting, the Zone 1-2 Travelcard on the 18+ Oyster was issued for about 11 months (as the Oyster expires then), but the price of an annual was paid. Will this be taken into account when calculating the changeover?
