I've heard from a gen group that DVT 82216 has received a light blue livery carrying an ad for Sky One. Currently at Bounds Green. Not sure if it'll be out tomorrow.

If you miss it, you can always wait an hour for 82216+1.

(Let's hope the livery doesn't blow off!)

If they do a full rake, can't wait for a drink in the Sky Sports [Cafe] Bar

So that would be all-over royal blue with white doors? Bit Scotrail-ish...

Then again East Coast passengers have been living with a variety of coloured liveries for a few years now so I don't suppose they'll be too confused.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the new livery especially on the 91/DVT looks like electric blue if you got rid of the sky branding?

That colour works well on the MK4, and the 91....

mind the original paintwork is still their best look...IC executive

This came up last week on our safety day. £90,000. Been told Yorkshire Tea are interested in the idea.

:o Wonder how much EC get in ad fees on top of that?

Would still be pretty effective to do just a loco and dvt, at a much lower cost.

I'd have thought it would be plastered in Toy Story characters since they're plugging that on almost every ad break, but otherwise it would look OK if it wasn't plastered with huge headshot photos.

The Battle of Britain, Flying Scotsman and James Bond liveries look great but by associating itself with causes and/or organisations that perhaps could be seen as slightly less appreciated, East Coast ought to be careful that the brand isn't devalued. The Sky livery seems to me to be approaching that point.

It's splitting hairs I know, but the 225s never wore Intercity Executive livery. They were delivered in the then newly launched IC swallow.

Saw this set today making up the 1400 EDB-KGX. Its a surprisingly nice finish, with various quotes from different members of EC staff who presumably feature in the program.

I would watch if I thought paying for mediocre TV with adverts was worth it...
