It's due to a measure we implemented a while ago to help cut down on bots registering and spamming the forum (and quite successful it's been too!). You need to go to 'User CP' then click 'Edit Your Details' and fill in the box titled 'Local station' then enter your new mileage and hit 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the screen.

Still no real updates from me, seriously doubt I'll hit 10,000 this year after all. Only got a WMDR due on 2nd September, might try to do a leap for 180108 if it all works out next week. Otherwise there's a commute from HAM to HFD on 12th September, and after that it's the big 10 year anniversary bash in Glasgow on 22nd/23rd September :D

Have now managed to do a very rough update but for some reason keep getting

when I try and enter the figure in the space provided (26947 for the record) - any ideas? (no, I am not entering any spaces, commas, decimal points etc).

My actual total is somewhat higher but I don't have time right now to work out some journeys due to getting ready to go and add several thousand more miles in the next couple of weeks ;)

We seem to have some striking similarities in our travel patterns. :D

I'm on about 23600 at the moment, on roughs, as I've not had much time due to other commitments. Likewise have some serious mileages to do in the next 2 months or so.

Finally some movement from me - a sneaky after work leap to rake in 67001 on the (diverted) Von Ieaun's Express gained me 123 miles, and put me on 1854 for the year - just behind Blindtraveler in Division 3 (North) of the table...

Am now up to 12679 after a fortnight of travel with Freedom of Southwest 8 from 15. Where I cleared the Devon and Cornwall branches and Cardiff Valleys by adding 2 Valley Day Explorers all paid for with half the vouchers from delays on my ALR in June. Still 1385 short of last year's total - but there are still 3 months to go. Also this is all leisure travel - no commuting or work (What's that?)

Up to 880 from mostly LU bashing on Friday (about 30-40 miles of it!) and yet more insane coach mileage on NatEx Plaxtons

If it's a railway, I count it. I've certainly included the Hythe Pier Railway in my moves, although not converted the 2,100' into miles and chains yet so not yet in my 2013 total.

On 7,145 miles so far this year, although I've still a LOT of moves abroad where mileage figures are impossible to come across :( Two of the biggest and most annoying gaps I've got on the mainline are Verviers Central to Spa Geronstere and Verviers Central to Eupen if my memory of last night's look at my RailMiles pages is correct. Of course, still after Brussels Metro and tram mileages, could easily add 30 miles or more to my 2013 total there...

30?! Won't make that much of a difference then. :D

You can take it more seriously if there are two more zeros behind.

Well we're only talking about 14 miles so it's hardly going to change the table that much but I want to keep things completely above board ;)

To be fair I don't know exactly how much it was, could have been much more. All the 0.00 figures on my RailMiles page looks really bad though!

If I have time and I can retrace the route I use G-Maps Pedometer to work it out. Think it took me about an hour to do the Heavy Rail part of my last German trip (which came in at about 300 miles!)

On a train somewhere in Europe

Seeing that I have my Belgium kms to hand (unlike the Croatia / Slovenia book which has gone into hiding at the moment :-x)
Verviers C to Geronstere = 16.7km
Verviers C to Eupen = 19.2km

Nice one, shall update my RailMiles account shortly. As for measuring the distances online, that's not a bad idea. Need a few hours to do that though!

Just seen it's Eupen to Welkenraedt that I need not Verviers, d'oh!

Just boosted mine to 6,578 for the year, which will be the most I've done ever in 12 months I think - a trip to Thurso and back just added 1,163 to my total. Have already got another 1,037 in before the end of the year as well.....

Passed last year's total in the vicinity of Stourbridge Junction this morning, on the way to the SVR!

Still firmly in Division 3 (North) in the table... :)

I think you want Stoke-On-Trent - Lichfield Trent Valley (Low Level) and Lichfield Trent Valley (High Level) - Erdington. Comes to 42mi 13ch.

Weighing in at 4185 miles so far this year. Thanks to my ticket collection, memory and MS Excel, though that's not including most of my light rail & LU mileage. New Years resolution 2014 - to keep on top of it more!

Anyone know the distance from Fishguard & Goodwick to Fishguard Harbour. Can't get RME to give it , nor table 128 of timetable.

Fishguard and Goodwick is 287m 52ch, Fishguard Harbour is 288m 18ch, so I make the distance 46 chains.
