Its the same reason that you can't on a 220/221/390 (I can't remember what it is though!). I do find it weird how there are always people hating on the above classes about it, but I've not once heard it mentioned about the 222s! Which is ironic since the 220/221/390s have had boosters to try and rectify the problem for a long time, whereas EMT have only just started :roll:

Croydon's Variobahn trams cannot work to Wimbledon.


They can and do and during the recent blockade 5 of the 6 were diagrammed daily on that section.

They can and do and during the recent blockade 5 of the 6 were diagrammed daily on that section.

And indeed I believe the 4 extra Variobahns which have recently been ordered will work to Wimbledon on a regular basis. As you no doubt are aware, there was some dispute about the physical clearance of the platform edge at Wimbledon, but this really has faded away now, for obvious reasons!
