Was today a dream or just plain weird (don't read this if you have a life/something else even mildly interesting to do)
02:10: My boss sends me a text asking me if I can be in by 8am due to staff member being absent. My lie-in never materialised and I did 11 hours instead of my planned 7 (09:00-20:00 instead of 13:00-20:00).
07:58: The train is early into Woking which allows me to change onto a non-stop service to London. Normally (in my experience) that connection isn't possible due to the train being on time/late.
08:30: Get a nice, hot bacon roll from the hut place near the Waterloo bus stops, with a bus arriving just minutes later. I'm the only one to get on and as this is where route 4 starts I got a nice quiet journey to Barbican.
08:45: Arrive at Barbican after just one 'incident' - hard braking after a white van man (on the phone) pulled out in front of the bus. Our bus driver was not too happy and lots of "pleasent" words were exchanged.
Now at work, I could enjoy a nice 11 hour day receiving faxes and messages from TOCs, e-mails from National Rail etc etc. Unfortunately not that much happened so I got to make a good start on the 65 page engineering works book covering the next 3-4 weeks from National Rail. Got a fair few pages covered. The only thing that was of remote interest was a random fire alarm on the stairwell that gave a colleague a reason to run up and down the fire escape looking for a fire. No fire was found however there was a report of a "suspicious-looking Mexican getting into the lift".
19:00: A BBC Jamliner called through a number of times with reports of a spillage... in his kitchen. He also asked what our favourite types of jam are. He seemed to get the message after having the phone put down on him several times.
19:50ish: It's home time and during my 5 minute walk to Barbican tube for the bus, I came face-to-face with Chris Eubank's 'Peterbilt' truck coming out from behind a bar in Farringdon (where Charterhouse Square becomes Carthusian Street). I know it was his as it had the registration "CHR11S". I don't know if he was driving though as it's so tall you cannot see inside. I'm amazed the driver got the thing out the side road!
20:05: At Waterloo I noticed that the 20:09 to Pompey via Eastleigh is shown as "Platform 14 - Delayed". I take a stroll over and come across a familiar face. It was only Gizmogle! As if that isn't bad enough, she conned me out of 50p! I then made a move (before she emptied my wallet), only to find the train wasn't even in the platform. When it arrived it had a nice quick turnaround and left... as a train to Waterloo via Richmond calling at Battersea and Vauxhall. Yeah, whatever!
Oh well, 9-3 tomorrow then CBT course on Monday!

. Its a great office and there's about a dozen coffee shops within a 50m radius, still need to learn what the differences between the zillion variations of coffee are though
