Looking at the timetable published by Network Rail, ferry connections are shown at Mallaig from Glasgow so it would seem that the station does indeed serve the ferry terminal.

I don't see any two minute connections in the timetable, the train arrives at 1226 with the ferry leaving at 1640 so there's no issue here. However I have discovered that there is a train departure from Mallaig station at 1400 to Fort William so you can't use the ferry as it involves more than two hours waiting for the first available service. We remain at Mallaig at 1226 on Thursday. Due to the time of day, I will allow Trainfan until 1000 to post the next move after which time it becomes open floor.

I've just checked the timetable again and it's actually the 1410 service "The Jacobite" steam train so that may well be why it is not shown by traveline. It's in the Scotrail timetable and the website for West Coast Railways says you can join the train on the day subject to availability.

I did take heed of the information that you have cited in this posting but the very fact that "subject to availability" is a clearly stated stricture leaves this type of steam train rail traction as one that would need to be a clear and concise new addition to the rules of this quiz in a especially headed section before such steam train usage as part of a non-heritage railway service, before any such posting that uses this type of service can be approved for acceptance on this particular quiz.

Such is the lateness of the hour that this compounds the paucity of onward available transport, so we resign ourselves to await the early morning train and eventually,we board the 0651 First ScotRail service to Ardlui that arrives at 0951 on Friday morning.

Having looked at the timetable I see there is indeed a ferry departure available at 1355 so the 1605 rail service would not be valid as this is more than a two hour wait after the first available service. We will RESUME from Mallaig at 1226 on Thursday with Paul having the priority to post the next move until 1953 after which time it becomes open floor. Sorry for not checking the ferry timetables before posting the previous move, for some reason I thought that there were only one or two ferries each day.

According to the Cal-Mac website there is no 12:40 ferry departure from Mallaig to Armadale on a Thursday.

Trainfan's move on the 1240 ferry (which doesn't run on Thursdays) was not declared void or struck through. Looking at the timetable, there is indeed no ferry at this time on Thursdays so this move is indeed void and we remain at Mallaig at 1226 on Thursday. Trainfan has until 2145 to submit a new move from here after which time it becomes open floor.
