Hm, I'm not able to book for Thursday 11th, which is when I want to travel, even though it says it's available from Tuesday 9th. Any reason for this?

Hold on, there's something wrong with this. The calendar for booking tickets on that page gives April 2012?! I've found out you can book for Thursday 11th, the calendar is just set for the wrong year

Manually entered the date of travel as 11/04/2013 and it's offering 25p tickets on the 08:15, 08:45, 09:15 and 10:15 from Marylebone and the 12:55, 13:55 and 14:55 from Moor Street.

It's a shame it's only in one direction too. I suppose I could go on an overnight trip to London and book my return journey for 25p using this offer but wouldn't be able to book the outward journey the night before. Can't book a one-way or return journey starting in Birmingham.

Just buy a whole set, and then a one-way booking. Bin the first ticket. Total cost 75p

Marvellous - got 2 returns for a grand total of £1. Have flexibility to go up early or have a lie in and to come back before or after the evening peak.

Thanks guys, I've booked my 50p trip too. Might even buy a £10 Business Zone supplement for the return leg (am riding off-peak services).

I guess it depends on what they can negotiate with ATOS Origin.

I use their Facebook link most times, that gives double points on top of the usual 1p in the pound so works out the same or better than the cashback sites.

Not really. The FB link gives double points, ie 2% "cashback" if you will. TCB seems to give 1.5 or 2%. That combined the RSH's own loyalty scheme comes to 2.5 or 3% cashback. Using the cashback site is better.

Thanks for that! It's a matter of pence really, but thats an answer to something I've been thinking about.

I made two bookings last week, one for £44 the other for £30. Both in Standard class. I have been credited with 222 points (74 directly plus a bonus of 168 for using Facebook).

If that doesn't add up to 3% in total there's something wrong with my calculator.

OK, show me where it says you get 3%. What it says is that you get "double loyalty points". Since standard points are 1% that means 2%. You have obviously made an error with your calculations.

Previously RSH used to give me 2+1% loyalty points in the same way as described by snail. Then it stopped working for me. I haven't tried RSH-via.-facebook recently, but I agree there is a mistake in their programming giving some/all customers 2+1% rather than just 2% using this method.

can only pick up from Southern ticket vending machines so passengers from Milton Keynes, Ashford, Southampton etc still need the postal option or buy a ticket to the nearest Southern operated station

Great news that Daysave is now on the Mixing Deck, although still slightly frustrating that I'll have still have to travel to Peckham Rye or East/North Dulwich to collect Daysave despite London Overground managed Forest Hill having a 4tph Southern service.

NRE claims Forest Hill has ToD collection. If this is wrong, then drop them an email and they'll correct it.

I have contacted LO about lack of ToD at some of their stations, and their response was to use Oyster to get to a station which does offer ToD, which kind of missed the point.

I know Forest Hill has TOD as I've collected Southern purchased tickets in the past, however as Johnny and a tweet to @SouthernRailUK both clarify that Daysave can still only be collected from Southern managed stations.

The lack of TOD appears to be at TfL owned stations on the ELL between Surrey Quays and Dalston Junction, although someone may be able to clarify the lack of the facility at other LO stations which are NR owned which Southern also serve.

Forest Hill kept it's old Southern TVM's (although the chip and pin machines were recently upgraded to LO's ATOS readers), but the software was upgraded to LO's. This may be the case at Clapham High Street.

On my last visit, I witnessed that one of the machines there (the thinner, card only one) although it had been installed with LO branded software, it still offered the buy from another station feature, hence my theory.

Incidentally, one of the three TVM's at Forest Hill, despite the software change still had Southern on the chip and pin reader display and would show on my bank statements as 'SOUTHERN RAILWAY' for months after LO took over management of the station. All the others correctly displayed London Overground.
