Instead of lowering the pass grade, why don't they offer an interview/assessment to those of us still 'Awaiting Shortlisting'?

Just wondering if you've sat the assessments in the past with a previous TOC?

Im presuming we will be getting correspondence in order of the time slots for next week.

Came through about half 3 today Chris and yes it's at the same hotel.

No, but i declared i will be relocating, so maybe those who live nearby get first dibs at interviews etc.

I don't think so as I think that they were fairly random last time around. I relocated from London to Liverpool for the job and was given assessments early on in the order and had my medical with them long before other candidates.

Good luck and stick with it cos it's been well worth the slow and stressfull application process so far for me. They are a good company to work for and really do look after their trainee drivers

Since the Stage 1 tests, which were scheduled to be undertaken by approximately 300 candidates, there have only been 16 or so people on here that have announced their success. FTPE expect around 150 to undertake Stage 2, followed by the reaction test and structured interview at Stage 4. If you estimate the numbers going forward to each stage by chopping 50% each time, then at the end of Stage 4 there should be just over 30 for the Manager's interview, but in reality I would expect a slightly lower figure than that for the 10 positions available.

So no, I don't class 16 confirmed successes out of 300 as meaning that there'll be anymore than normal going through to the manager's interview. Those who already possess a pass in the standard tests still have to do Stage 4 I believe.

Considering the amount of recruitment that has gone on at FTPE of late, if they're planning to start another course relatively quickly after the next one on 24th June, then they may well have decided to start a holding pool, (common in aviation) with candidates who have passed all tests and interviews being ready to start with just a month's notice. In that case they would want to keep the number of candidates going through each stage correspondingly higher.

Just a thought.

· A safety test which measures your concentration ability (Group Bourdon)
· An aptitude test which measures your trainability (TRP)

Stage Three Assessments

· A safety test which measures your reaction and coordination ability (DTG)
· A structured interview (CBI)

Stage four is quoted as being the medical but obviously there'll also be a Driver Manager's interview in there somewhere.

Bert and Ernie - as Chris said, didn't you get the attachments that accompanied your stage one invitation email.

This bit is confusing, no mention of where they will slot the DM interview in, am I right in thinking it is normal to conduct this after the OPC assessments, rather than mingled in with them?

I just can't believe it's Monday and they expect people to jump when they get themselves organised. Booking train fares and hotels at this short notice is going to cost some folk an arm and a leg. People are just so forgiving due to the fact that its for a train drivers job!

Looks like those who haven't heard are going to be on Friday at a guess.

Driver manager interviews will be after the last part of the assessments but before the medical..

i applied in the last recruitment drive... i stumbled on the final manager interview which was about 1-2 weeks after the structured interview and the reactions test.

Things could change a lot between now and then in regard to their requirements so I'll see what's available IF I get that far. Sheffield, York or Hull would be my preferences, but from those only York has slots right now. Let's see what transpires down the line.

No rules you can apply for as many as you want.

If you have an assessment pass already with no borderline passes then I would think that you will go straight through to the manager's interview which will be after the 26/4/13 when all the assessments have finished.

You will go straight through to the Managers interview if you have already passed the assessments.
