Fulham 0....Manchester United 1
Is it just me or has the Beeb website still not updated the tables for today's fixtures yet?
Keegan on his second coming springs to mind instantly. Sam Allardyce/
Good and desperately needed 3pts for Le Toon today, especially as all of the bottom teams picked up points today.
I think Demba Ba will remember this weekend for a while too as his return to Tyneside left him with a boot to the face and a broken nose. Reminds me of a Saturday night down the Bigg Market...
I'm not saying some were not decent managers, even the last, just that their appointments had something of the Beckhams about them. "Taking the Toon to the promised land" and all that....
Glen Roeder? No. OK
Chris Hughton? No.OK
Alan pardew? No. OK
Greame Souness? No...verging on one
Bobby Robson? No....Yes. All the elevation to divinity, coming home to heaven etc
Joe Kinnear? No....If that wasn't a stunt, what was?
Fat Sam? No....absolutely yes at the time. Remember he was being touted as the perfect England manager.

The results on Saturday will surely give Manchester City an added incentive in their home match against Liverpool, as to be 10 points behind with a game in hand needs that game to be won.
One of these teams has now parted company with their enfant terrible...perhaps the other one will now also consider the advisability of a return to his home country.
Any stats to back that claim up? I suspect the same player to be a victim of a media witch hunt
That last result in the 4th round of the FA Cup seems to have given a "reprieve of sorts" to Oldham Athletic manager Dickov according to the club chairman.
However, the defeat in the league yesterday was the eighth in nine league 1 matches.....with the result that the club have just sacked him.
paul dickov has left Oldham as well
I'm not suggesting that this is the case at Oldham or Notts County, but can anyone else think of any sort of business where employees can be incompetent, underperform, or even downright refuse to work but cannot be got rid of, while a manager may work wonders even to get the worker to work on the day and still is the only one that can be sacked [I know this is because the little darlings are not real "employees" but assets]
I've just noticed with 15 mins to go Liverpool are 2-1 up at Manchester City. Bet this is the only time in the season Man Utd fans will cheer on Liverpool.
Gerrard and Sturridge with Liverpool's goals
As a Liverpool fan, I'd be satisfied even if we go on to lose, the performance gives great hope, and consistency has been very good of late, barring the Oldham game where we played a lot of youngsters.
Sturridge is looking to be a great buy, 4 goals in 5 league games now Seeing a lot of frustrated chelsea fans on Twitter that their managers didnt give him a chance.
I must admit, when everyone else had already put Sturridge down as over-priced, I couldn't understand where they were coming from. Man City shouldn't have let him go in the first place, he showed his quality at Bolton, opportunities were limited and not helped by his greediness at Chelsea, but fair play the lad, so far, as we saw at Bolton, has delivered. Good on him.
I think at this stage City will be more concerned about the result than you guys.
Yes. United were eight points ahead of City with only six games left last season.Full Time: Man City 2 Liverpool 2
Man City are nine points behide United in table now, can anyone see Man Utd dropping points in coming months?
Yes. United were eight points ahead of City with only six games left last season.
My only concern with our team is Reina, seems to be at fault for a lot of goals lately.

"It would be naive and complacent of those in the UK to think such a criminal conspiracy does not involve the English game and all the football in Europe."
