I'm told 22269 has finally arrived at Lillyhall. 22609 is now VOR so has been suggested that a coming in MAN would be cover, but hopefully 22269 is still down as permanent move to also replace 20918, as well as releasing 22140 with the already arrival of 22260.

22269 is 22140 replacement and has been repainted and given a clean up inside.

They're ADL Enviro 300's.
Was wondering a few days ago of the exact ones, but can't seem to find any official confirmation online, but I have seen pictures of these ones:
67773 / SN62AXH
67774 / SN62AXK
67775 / SN62AXO
67776 / SN62AXU
67777 / SN62AXW
67780 / SN62AYA

Galashiels depot are getting ten (67773-82) I'm sure, so I assume that all have not yet been delivered. The 53/55 plate Scanias are heading out of the region and Volvo Eclipse are staying with them as far as I know.

Hope that answers your question :)

20794 has been out on route learning duties on the 113 the last few days.

Does anyone know if Solo 47489 has been re-engined? It sounds very much like an Enviro200 or Transbus/ADL Dart.

I'm guessing Lillyhall, as I believe they're expecting new Scanias. But I was of the impression that they'd only be losing 3 with ME getting 2 13 plates.

If we assume a 5-year replacement cycle, they won't be going until 2014/5 at the very earliest, and by then I'm sure there'll be other routes that have leapfrogged X4/5 in the priority order.

Reays are seemingly confident about challenging, and indeed toppling stagecoach. Is there really room for two operators on the 300 corridor, and indeed, by the end of 2013, what will things be like in carlisle?

I would say no room for two no. As I understand it Reays have timetabled their service a few minutes ahead of SC. Some would say this is lazy or cheap competition but none the less is likely to pick up the passengers. I'm open to correction here.

They key is sustainability, who is in the best place to sustain the operation in line with their own costs etc while delivering a frequent, reliable and affordable service.

Lastly as we know SC are likely to invest in the 300 this year which will step up the competition further. SC have more money, have more resources and more experience with competition nationwide and, no doubt, will have a long term strategy that they will role out gradually. I'm not worried about SC myself.

Whatever you think about Reays I actually think it's good for passengers that there is competition as it raises standards and prompts investment. That's my pennies worth anyway!

This is what Stagecoach has been doing for years!, in places like Barrow, Bolton, Burnley, Darlington, Lancaster, Lytham St Annes, & Preston.

In Bolton, it was possible to catch a stagecoach bus from Bolton to Manchester a distance of 8 miles for only 10p.

In Lytham St Annes, they used former Lancaster CT buses, which were blue on 167/168 services, which ran in direct competion with Fylde Blue Buses services 11/11A.

Agreed

1 journey withdrawn on the 12 and the 40 is to operate between lancaster and preston only, unsure about the 2/2A.
