FLOYD 6 has already left the country, along with 4 Class 87s - The two Europhoenix ones and two that are to be refurbished or used as spares over there, and a Class 56?!

Im going to now be cheaky then, Does 70012 count? Well, it's been dropped off, and now exported again.

It's in fact 86217 in the Floyd livery currently at willsden yard and 86247 in the europhonix livery currrently at crewe LNWR, the ones I'm talking about.

86247 is owned by Porterbrook and is a spares donor for Freightliner.
86233 (spares), 87009, 87017, 87023 and 87025 are now on a boat in the sea somewhere on their way to Bulgaria. 87009 and 87025 will be reactivated in Bulgaria.
56101 and 56115 have so far gone to Hungary, with 56096 at Washwood Heath and 56117 at Burton being prepared. 86217 is still at Willesden Depot.
92025 and 92027 are still at Wembley, and other than the odd Class 66/0 returning to France, no other 66s should be leaving this year.

Hope this helps, Sam

This is copyed and pasted from wnxx:

Europhoenix pool amendments...

"Two new pool groups have been created by Europhoenix - EPEX for locomotives for export and EPUK for UK locomotives. Reallocated to EPEX from either EPXX or EPXS are 56086 56096 and 56117 along with 86228 86229 86234 86246 and 86251. Reallocated to the EPUK pool, again from either EPXX or EPXS are 86231 86235 and 86242. The EPXS pool is now devoid of an allocation whilst EPXX retains Hungary bound 86217 along with the three demics at Crewe LNWR - 86621 86633 and 86635"

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see 91s being exported once their work on the ECML has been done.<D

They better not take 131 if that proves to be the case, its earmarked for preservation hopefully based at the nrm.

As long as you save one or two for my 91 + Mk3/4 + 43 rake! (91110 should be preserved too as it is the speed record holder, 162mph)

Are 92025 and 027 still at wembly and are there going to be more 92s heading to Bulgaria. What happened to the three 66s that DBS were due to sent to Poland a few months ago, the numbers were 200, 217 and 228 (I think)?

58050 is also earmarked a place in the National Collection but that hasn't stopped it from being put to work in France.

Won't they take over the MML after it's wired? As far as I'm aware the Hitatchi order doesn't cover that.
That doesn't mean that IEPs couldn't be ordered for the MML subject to the order being awarded to Hitachi following the competitive tendering process. There is no evidence to suggest that the 225 sets will be used on the MML following electrification.

The NRM are only taking on the one class 91- 91031/91131, as it holds the UK speed record for a domestic train carrying passengers (Albeit on a specially organised press run of course) at 154mph. However that wouldn't stop a group like the AC Loco Group from purchasing 91110.

Is there a reason why we are exporting 92's like they are going out of fashion? Are they not still the newest and most modern electric locomotive we have?

There's very little work for them here so it's logical for the owning FOCs to send them where there is work rather than leave them sitting around rusting.

Huh thought they were some of the locomotives that DBS owned outright. Thanks for the info.

Does freightliner still use that set of Class 86s?

If so, why are they exporting Class 92s? I would have thought the 92s would be more suited to freight work with thier greater power and far greater tractive effort?

They do still have 86s. As for not using 92s, Freighliner don't have any on their books. If DBS or Eurotunnel were to make them available they might consider switching, but why would you give your competitor access to a better train? It's a similar reason why DBS have a yard full of 60s rotting away when there are probably a couple of FOCs that could use them.

Pairs of 86/6s are a pretty good tool for intermodal trains. Plenty of grunt > 8k hp and plenty of TE to get the train moving. They will go up hill and down dale at 75mph with 1500t on. The 92 is a monster, but it does still have a micro to intervene whereas the 86s are a bit more open to hard driving as it is down to the man in the seat.

Ah, so yet another disaster caused by privatisation :(

Also is there not a Freightliner Class 86 that has been regeared to run intermodal trains alone?

That would seem to indicate that 8k HP is overkill, and even a single Class 92 still has going on 6500hp.
