A most inopportune omission...:roll:
This halt was opened in 1912 and closed in May 1955 and was only ever served by services from Oldham to Delph (via Greenfield) and was in the Uppermill area

You missed the "Closed in 1862" clue that was at the end of my last posting......
The final closed station in Ashton before the final leg commenced was Ashton Moss...(Closed in 1862)
Fairfield station still has two open platforms on its site that are used by services from Manchester Piccadilly to Marple Rose Hill.

We now take a short step to Cheshire to commence the next journey, which will finish in Wales. Note that not all the early stated lines have closed stations, but are just short link lines.
WE ARE NOW BACK TO THE USUAL QUIZ SYSTEM OF STARTING AND FINISHING STATIONS BEING OPEN STATIONS.
This quiz is number 67 so far.
The journey starts at the open station of Greenbank
It follows the line of the Mid-Cheshire line
It then follows the line of the Northwich to Sandbach branch line
It then follows the line of the Crewe to Manchester line
It then follows the line of the Crewe to Chester Railway
It then follows the line of the Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway
It then follows the line of the Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway
It then follows the line of the Oswestry and Newtown Railway
It then follows the line of the Mid-Wales Railway
It then follows the line of the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway
It then follows the line of the Newport, Abergavenney and Hereford Railway
It then follows the line of the Vale of Neath Railway
The journey ends at the open station of Neath
The first closed station is Billinge Green Halt

My map showed three railway stations on this branch line. One covering a sizeable settlement with two minor halts on either side. We are heading from Greenbank on the Mid-Cheshire Line towards Sandbach on the Crewe to Manchester line.
