I'm sick to death of having to pay a compulsory tax when I rarely watch it.
Out of interest do you watch anything on Channel 4, because that also receives some licence money

Oh no they don't!!!!
The F1 presenters are like Mr Gay UK and their Motogp commentary team is not even in the same league as Eurosports. So much so that we often wait to watch the delayed race an hour later!
No it doesn't, http://www.channel4.com/4viewers/faq/name/does-channel-4-get-any-of-the-licence-fee/id/400286880Out of interest do you watch anything on Channel 4, because that also receives some licence money
Channel 4 website said:Q Does Channel 4 get any of the licence fee?
A Channel 4 supports itself solely via advertising, programme sponsorship and commercial revenue and does not receive any of the licence fee.
Hardly anything, I suppose if I wanted to watch some foul mouthed cook or some immature ignorant wannabees it would be just up my street.
I am quite content for the BBC to be made available via advertising or pay-tv to those that might like its institutionally left wing pro-Europe anti-English agenda.
Let it stand on its own feet financially like every other broadcaster.
Because, when they prance about on the national stage (as opposed to doing their proper job, locally) they give the impression of dinosaurs from the 70s? I certainly detect an increasing anti-government bias in BBC current affairs reporting, particularly in their willingness to report Labour spokesmen at length when no government spokesman is available. Still, give them enough rope........ If the BBC is institutionally left wing why do trade unions get such a bad press (especially the RMT)?....

Not seen that recently, since about 1975.And yet you've got other people claiming the BBC is biased TOWARDS the government...
No...but following a bald statement of "The government today announced.." with three minutes of Yvette Cooper (or similar clone) is hardly balance. If the government can't be bothered to put a spokesperson forward and Labour can that's hardly the BBC's fault
What is the purpose of a Trade Union? Is it to protect the interests of its members, or to attempt to organise national campaigns to oppose the entire programme of an elected government? If one (rightly) objects to the influence of "Big Business" in the corridors of power, then one must see that these union leaders have no place there either. They are posturing, pretending that they have something sensible to say, but hankering back to the glory days of Wilson and Callaghan. And if that does not justify my description, then I am a monkey's uncle! And WTF does "prance about on the national stage" mean?
No? Recently.*Not seen that recently, since about 1975.
It's up to the government to put forward someone to interview. The view of the Opposition is important to hear.*No...but following a bald statement of "The government today announced.." with three minutes of Yvette Cooper (or similar clone) is hardly balance.

Oh come on - EVERYONE was anti-government thenHave you forgotten the anti-government bias in BBC current affairs reporting when Labour were in office?
