well, the discovery of this tram, on top of a load of other no-can-do issues elsewhere on the map, sort of invalidates the cascais mission. Even if this tram line is rusting away, cascais clearly wasn't, until a couple of years ago at the least, the traditional western end of fixed rail transport on the mainland. it would take probably 4 hours+ to do that tram, so that's a non starter.
so we need to work out a kind of "walk down regent street, down haymarket, left into trafalgar and down whitehall" route through belem, which includes this bun shop. note that we aren't necessarily going to be arriving from the west from cascais now. There's a tram inland about 1km which i'd listed to get back, though I guess it's probably more logical now to get that one out, then walk down hill into belem.
we also need to work out what's the supply situation at oriente, it's all steel and glass round there from what i can see, but if it's "as busy as grand central" then there has to be a supermarket in some mall shirley.

also, if we are going to leave from oriente, then it's logical to get off there and dump the bags.
there' s the typical cafe/food court level in oriente it says on here,

so one thing to locate is some purveyor of fine port, which I'm sure wont be hard to do but needs pinpointing beforehand and weaving into the plan.

not sure now about oriente as a terminal, no pingo doce and it's a lot nicer outside than in. might be better just to get the 16:05 out of santa apolonia and spend 15 mins on the platform.
