Hello Matt,

Are you having site problems? I'd like to ask a question but I'm not allowed to enter more than 420 characters...

Andrew.

Hello again Matt,
My apologies for the above. Original issue seems to have cleared. Not sure if this was a site issue or just local to me at the time - but am stymied by character limit again. Original problem - a couple of images (one in the Sheffield derailment thread, one in the TfW 769 thread) corrupted a whole page. All now seems to be well again.
Many thanks (apologies for staccato message),
Andrew.
Now let’s all just try to get along... :)

If it wasn't for the class war that is currently going on by pro-lockdown people against younger/poorer people, yes we could all get along ;)

I agree entirely.
Hi Josh
I read a post of yours from 2019 about the training software on traineetraindriverinfo.com. I failed the ATAVT (Vienna System) test last time, and I've got a final shot soon.
Would you recommend the software from ttd.com for passing the ATAVT? I've seen that How2Become do an ATAVT training software too, and don't know which to use!

Thanks for any help!
James.
Regardless of your stance on Covid, can we all just agree that the communication quality of information needs to improve?

Vague ambiguous nonsense, nonsense one-way systems. and blatantly incorrect terminology seem to be the norm now.

We need to say "NO" to the "new normal" of restrictive practises
What is your avatar?

I keep thinking its the Chernobyl control rods jumping.

It is indeed the Chernobyl control rod and fuel channel caps jumping up and down like pieces of popcorn seconds before the reactor lid (upper biological shield or UPS or Elena) is blown off like a wine cork from the ever-increasing steam pressure. It's not from the show itself obviously, it's a rendering in Unreal Engine 4 by Kristóf Lovas. Link here.
I have just realised that the Speculative forum is invisible if you are not logged in.

I never noticed that before!

It's like a guilty secret...
I wish there was a forum for Fantasy Ideas. Where you could put someone's ideas without worrying about unrealism. Japan has this sort of thing too called "Fictional Railways/trains".

I'm interested to know what would be in the fantasy ideas forum

I might ask Ainsworth74 about this and see how it goes.

You can simply use Speculative Ideas for this, but prefix the thread title with "Fantasy:"
Yes, I would like to throw my Goldfish down the toilet.

People who have been on a Virgin train toilet can only understand this.
I'm seeing many stations that we're opened in the 1990s in South Yorkshire, any reason for this?

The success of one reopening often leads to more. Plus, if the relevant local authorities are interested in opening a certain station, then they're also likely to be looking at others too. It's the same mindset.

Because of this, a lot of reopenings - especially in the 1980s and 1990s - have been on the same lines. The Far North Line, Glasgow South Western Line and Settle & Carlisle Line all have examples of this.
Good luck for tomorrow, remember STAR model (add the plus if you can) try getting assessing threat harm and risk in.
have you ever dealt with a stressful situation?
What attracted you to the role?
As a train driver we have to work within the rules, when have you ever had to break a rule?

All I can remember
I just heard a horn somewhere out of my house. I'm sure it's a train horn since I live somewhere near railway tracks, but this time, it sounded different from a Class 508/507. It blew about six or seven times. Class 777 on test perhaps?

But then again, they don't usually go on test in the daytime, so I don't know what it is.

No, but I'm sure it was another train. Due to privacy reasons, I choose not to reveal my location directly.
Smashed my old cast iron bath up with a sledgehammer this afternoon. Boing Boing CRACK!
Marvellous.

I did something similar with an old concrete and brick fireplace - dusty but very satisfying!

Hello Seagull
Sorry to bother you and do apologise for dropping by.
I have been reading the Avanti thread closely too and saw your post. Is it possible to Pm me the roster too and earliest start and later finish timings for Euston if possible.
I would really appreciate that.
Kind regards,
Evoice
The forum isn't letting me submit posts for some reason...

I had the same issue on the TV advertising thread. 'Submit' didn't work in Chrome, but seemed fine in Safari.

@nlogax Adblockers will detect the word "advertising" and assume things below it are an ad, which interferes with the submit functionality. Do you perhaps have an adblocker installed in Chrome, but not Safari?

@Xenophon PCDGS Yes, I managed to figure out why as you can see above

Hah, good point and well spotted..foiled by my own adblocker!
I actually think I have been on a Fainsa Ironing board seat, I think it was on a class 331. I haven't been on a Desiro City since I don't really go south, but looking at some pictures of class 700 seats, and comparing them class 331 seats, they seem the same. The Class 331 could be slightly more padded. Could anyone who's been on both of these set's clarify this for me if you can?

The 331s and 700s have the same basic design of seat in two different variants. The 700s have a more upright and less padded variant which makes them very uncomfortable. The 331s have a better angled and more padded version which, while not the most comfortable, is entirely adequate for reasonably short journeys.

FWIW I've not been on a 700 either, this is just what I've been told.
I work in an office overlooking the East Coast Main Line in central Peterborough. I live close to the GNGE and the Fox Covert Road footbridge in the Werrington district of northern Peterborough
