"ZF Allison" gearboxes

Hello everyone. As of today (around 13:40) I'm currently on an 09-reg Scania E400 from Wootton Road in Abingdon with Mum heading to Oxford (13:10ish) to change for the JR Hospital.

The ZF gearbox was fine til just after Wootton when I thought it went into diesel-electric mode like a Stagecoach Oxford 53-plate Pointer Dart did on a 34 from Wantage to Abingdon in like 2008.

However the ZF gearbox performed identical across between a Volvo B10B, B10BLE, B6LE, B6BLE and Optare Solo's / SR's new from 2007 do if that makes sense.

What causes a ZF gearbox to change like this?

It's not - I'm just being silly . It's a ZF gearbox not changing correctly basically.

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking. Also Solos don't have ZF Ecomat gearboxes.

Basically the ZF gearbox was a bit faulty where it kind of felt like an Allison gearbox.

It sounds to me like the bus in question possibly had a slipping gearbox. A slipping Ecomat does somewhat resemble an Allisons box.

When Mum and I got home, I remembered that it was a slipping gearbox which I should have mentioned in the first place .
