Enthusiasts in the North West complain about 319s, when some of us down in the Midlands would quite happily have them, sure would be more fun than a 350 on a Walsall to Wolverhampton local!

When anyone has suggested 319s for West Midlands on this forum before it's not gone down well, especially if anyone's mentioned 32xs going to Northern as a result of that.

What are your rail predictions for 2015?
I expect the revised North TPE service pattern to eventually be the following services half-hourly (assuming my prediction about electrification is correct):
Liverpool-Newcastle
Piccadilly-Hull
Airport-Middlesbrough

Err...Scarborough?

HS2 extended to Glasgow.
Northern win the franchise to operate it, using specially uprated Pacers, capable of running at 76mph.

It looks likely that Scarborough to York will be Northern owned next year. And added to the York to Blackpool service. If electric wires are put up on Hull and Middlesbrough lines this service will end up as a shuttle as some already are.

Cool prediction for a first post! Currently HS2 trains have not been picked only the line speed.

My prediction is a revised version of what's included in the HLOS for CP5. The only changes I suggested are extending the Airport-York services to Middlesbrough and extending the Piccadilly-Selby service to Hull.

It's been proposed Scarborough would drop out of the TPE franchise if Manchester-York is electrified since the draft electrification RUS in 2009.
