someones keeping me busy...shall see what i can do - but ive got to say i must have done at least 30 odd already...but if you like the Dynamic Lines just like me, Wonder what would happen if First Group took on the potentialy soon to be ex Gat Ex Junipers...

Oh and ive got to say...this is pretty much proberley my favourate looking actually...

And a HST...

and theres more to come alright...or while i think of it...how about something in or around london ?

Or if Virgin took over the semi fast services on the West Coast...

I have to say that generally the schemes I like best are GoVia franchises.

- London Midland looks really good. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but now I think it works so well. Doesn't appear so good on the 321s mind you. I do disagree with the people who say it's simple though - it's anything but! 3 different shades of green, 2 different shades of grey with yellow, black and white thrown in!

- Southern is the best livery I think has ever graced the rails of Britain. Again, a very busy livery, lots of shapes that suit the Electrostars and Turbostars well (better than old BR stock certainly) and has a pleasant feel about it.

- Southeastern new livery on the 395s... Now if that were rolled out across the Electrostars, I think that would be a winner!

Worst liveries... Well FCC is up there, the take on dynamic lines is rubbish and makes the 319s look very fat. Ultimate worst though is NX - it's very cheap and tacky, looks it too and is well, dull!

Southeastern new livery on the 395s... Now if that were rolled out across the Electrostars, I think that would be a winner!

Now that's one of the things that impressed me about the 395s when I took part in the trials open to all rail staff in that area.

Apart from being a brand new train with all the bells and whistles, actually travelling at 140mph was some experience for the first time I can tell you!

Still, I would have liked to see all South Eastern stock re liveried in the same livery carried by the 395s instead of the white livery which they currently have.

There is a take on them, capital lines, or whatever they're called, and that I made reasonably clear in my post. Perhaps instead of being deliberately argumentative and pedantic, posting substance would be a good idea.

Don't forget that TOCs have to comply with DDA regulations in their liveries, so that is one reason for so many contrasting colours around doors. It's also why I think the GNER and First Group liveries work well - dark base colour, with bodyside branding and a contrasting door colour that links in well.

SWT have done this well too, but have the distinction of long distance (White), outer suburban (Blue) and inner suburban (Red) liveries too. Slightly lost with White 458s on the Readings, and Blue High Capacity 450s on Hounslow Loop/Windsor/Weybridge services. Still, will likely be rectified once 10-car trains come in on the Windsor lines.

I wonder what a London Midland livery would have looked like using Southern's layout, but with the greens replaced by Maroon/Red colours?

The livery on the 395s look nothing like any of the liveries on the First traction anyway so I don't know where you're coming from with that.

The livery on the 395s is far more trendy and cool then the former Connex livery which has just got different wording on it.

They are both clean :P
The Darker Blue on the 395 gives it a shinier complexion!

It wasn't the TOCs main logo, and to be honest I found their safe livery FAR too bland. But I did love the solid cast 'route of the flying scotsman' plaques on GNER mk3 stock. It was suitably extravagant and grand. Reminded me of my other favourite, the silver BR double arrows from the freight sectorisation era. Both would be welcome in my living room.

got to say though i do find the new SE livery rather abit on the bland side, just as SE always have been, but its an improvement...that and blue certainly is the best colour for modern day trains...

wouldnt say its that close to First though...First is slightly darker - well on my computer anyway - and rather more smarter...and trendy

Whether Southeastern roll out the 'Javelin' blue across the older stock, stick with Connex grey/yellow, or choose the SouthEastern/Connex grey/blue hybrid, does anyone know if they plan to make more of their Metro and Mainline brands?

The Southeastern High Speed is used on the Class 395s, but at present, unless I'm mistaken, the Metro and Mainline brands appear to be restricted to their website and promotional material.
