Here is January's collection of photos from around Yorkshire including:
3rd-A busy afternoon at Colton in brilliant winter sun.
25th-The New DB livery of 59206 seen at Burn

XC's hired out to NXEC HST heads south past Colton with NXEC PC 296 on the back i believe.....

An engineers train heads south after running from Church Fenton Possesion to Holgate to run round

@James,they usually come up to York in the Winter i don't know where they are based though? They usually stable in York station....

AFAIK they are based at Crewe. They were taken from Crewe to York by 57008, which also had a rake of RHTT wagons for store on the 19th Dec.

I like the fact you use quite a few locations and take shots at various perspectives it defiantly makes for interesting viewing athough Im not an expert all I say is keep up for good work!!!

They have been converted to mobile Load Banks, see here for information

Network Rail do have a third 86, no. 86424. It is currently sotred at Crewe and carries Network Rail yellow livery.

Also to add the AC loco group had taken interest in swapping a class 73 for one of the load banks which I believe is still being discussed.

I heard something like that a while back. What I heard was that Network Rail wanted to swap an 86 (I assume it would be 86424) with 73138.

Yeah Network rail wanted to swap 86424 but the AC loco group wanted one of the 9's as the group want every sub class of 86 (apart from the older subs) possible for preservation sake and the they have an effective spot hire fleet.
I don't think network rail quite liked the idea of the AC group taking work off them so I think it is currently a case of "when were done with the 9's we will talk".

@Phoenix,yeah lol,get about a bit,helps having a home and a 1/2 home "Holiday" in devon so can get to anywhere in the north or south easily,plus we don't do much on service trains or go to football etc (RUGBY LEAGUE!) so we save up and go on tours Hence why there are about 200 on my site! Cheers for the comments!

@Adam,Cheers mate,i took a while to set the camera up,i just used manual mode a 1/1000 shutter speed ISO 64 and F4.5 i think (cant remember) no filters or anything as its just a Digital Fuji S8000 All i did was cropped it in Corel a little bit then left it...

To add to that, they are also used for de-icing, they are usually based at York for said work.

I agree the skies on those two shots are fantastic. One of my favourite scenes when the sky is dark but the train is not. You also get gold stars for using portrait more often aswell! Good stuff.

The rumour was that 86424 was to be swapped for 73138 to give ACLG a new set of wheels for 86401 but it turned out to be just that, a rumour. You'd have to ask the ACLG, but I very much doubt they are that bothered about the 86/9s; there is simply no market for mobile load banks - just look at the amount of time that 86901 and 86902 spend at Crewe doing nothing.

The /9s are basically /2s with a pair of traction motors removed and the resultant 'spare power', if you like, is used to drive an additional stack of resistors to enable them to draw full power from the OHL while standing still or travelling at a low speed. I daresay that if they were so inclined, the ACLG could convert 86213 in a similar way; they certainly have the expertise.

Yet again, you've proved you have no idea.

Yes and you know more but why don't you just correct me in a nice way rather than just knock me down a few pegs.
What I have said is what I have heard and what I have read upon if you know more then share it but seen as though your only here to point out how stupid I am then ill carry on

Added some of DB 59206 at Burn on 25th
