I realy can see the potential this game has, but yet i keep on getting sidetracked with problems.... Now, i load the game up fresh from a restart, and turn the HST's accelerator to 75% and find that the sound is now partially knackered, the gradual increase of the iconic whistle is now a digitalised juttered step to step.

This is the 3rd anoying problem i have found with this game after 2 days of playing it, and im certain there is many more for me to find out there, never mind seeing how this game could have being 100% better with simple features.

Any help appreciated.

Check your sound settings and make sure they're turned up?

The HST sound isn't that good, but it doesn't just jump to the next notch on my computer.

Nothing to do with my sound settings, nothing changed. Good sound card, totally out of the blue it was.

I had a problem similar with the kettles sometimes. I altered my virtual memory settings to manual control rather than letting XP do it & set the memory values to reflect how much ram I had. It seemed a load better. How much Ram do you have? I started with 1gb, but upgraded it with another gig. With 2gb it worked even better. Also are you running EAX on your system?
Have just upgraded my whole system actually, nothing over the top but my local computer shop were having an xmas deal so I thought I would go for it rather than upgrade my old one as it was an old Athlon 3.2ghz with AGP graphics slot. Now running a 2gb ram, AMD Athlon x2 dual core 4000 with 512meg Nvidia 8500GT graphics card & running rail sim off a Sata drive rather than IDE. Now running 1600x1200 with good frame rate. Although I will upgrade the graphics card to a Nvidia 8800 in the summer.
