These are not my actual train times; I am simplifying here for clarity:
If your journey comprises:
- Train 1 from 23:00 to 00:10
- Train 2 from 00:30 to 01:00
the Avanti Delay Repay system will not accept it.
When you enter the individual trains manually (as I had to), it gives the error that the departure time of the second train is before the first!
As a software developer, I roll my eyes that they designed the system with no allowance for a date field against each train entered.
My solution was just to enter the details for the second train (which was the delayed one) and I'll have to explain on appeal. It's ludicrous that the initial claim has no comments box where I could explain upfront.
