Yesterdays freight

Sorry if wrong place but yesterday being south of the river visiting friends there was a freight going through Norwood junction around 1400 if not a little before.

I dont normally do midweek down there but I never knew there was any freight on that line and was flummoxed as to where it may have come from as looked like aggregate hoppers.

Any ideas?

What river, Tweed, Tyne, Wear, Mersey, Calder?

Still, to me and me mate this was very odd as he hasnt seen owt for an age on this line.

Yep, I've seen this and a fairly small number of other non-possession-related freights before at Norwood Junction. There are a few to/from Purley Aggregates - for example, this: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H12917/2015/02/13/advanced

It's easy to get confused with aggregate flows in the London area,
as several terminals (Marks Tey, Dagenham and Angerstein spring
to mind) dispatch loaded trains of sand as well as receiving inbound
deliveries of stone...

If cement trains are inclused, there are something like 30 different
rail-bourne 'construction' flows within the M25 area alone! hock:
