Yarmouth Drags.

Can anyone tell me please if the Yarmouth drags will be operating this summer, will they still be 47 hauled and what is the starting date for these diagrams.

Yes they will, they start on Sat 28 May and run at the same times as last year from Great Yarmouth (1040 and 1310) but slightly differently from Liverpool Street (1000 and 1230 (used to be 1200)), the latter taking nearly 3 hours to get there!

Looking at nationalrail.co.uk, it's quicker to take the 1230 from Liverpool St and change at Norwich, arriving 1509 as opposed to 1528 by staying on the direct train. I noticed that, last year, the departures boards at Liverpool Street didn't show the Yarmouth trains at all (under Great Yarmouth, that is). The Saturday services were all shown as connections, with no mention of the two direct trains.

Actually was 10.08 from Gym forming 11.00 ex-Nrw for last few years, 10.40 forming 11.30 ex-Nrw is new for this year. Change came about after many complaints that 10.08 was too early for many to reach the station from out of town holiday parks without rushing breakfast.

More scope for farces this year as there are fewer load 9 sets and they don't like load 10 sets going to Yarmouth so relying on fleet releasing and then control keeping the right sets on the right diagrams which could prove interesting

Platform 2 at Great Yarmouth can take a 15 coach train so a load 10 rake ought not to be a issue, why don't they like them going there anyway?

All about stop short & run-round these days. No class 03 to drag up to the carriage sidings. Also thats 15 MKIs.

Somebody also mentioned that load 10x mk3s is beyond the e.t.s. capability of a single 47. Anybody confirm?
