Heard it through Alfreton at 18.00, gave a blast of the horn - didn't recognise the sound at all so looked it up. Was out and about from Yarmouth CHS yesterday as well.

I don't know, but where has it come from, and what is it? In the preceding week there's no stock into Yarmouth CHS, but there was a working on the 25th provisionally to Chaddesdon, but that didn't run. Is stock stored there?

Eastern Rail services is based at Great Yarmouth. There is plenty of stock stored there. I suspect it is the mark 2 set for the Derby trips that Rich has mentioned above.

Thanks, didn't know that - looked on Google Earth, is a lot of that stock actually usable?

Yes, there is mark 2 set based there normally plus a mark 3 set with various other coaches.
