Xmas work - 60 hours

Evening all - I’ve been offered 12 hour shifts x5 on nights over Xmas for my sub sponsor, Hotel is 28 minutes away. My primary sponsor doesn’t want to accept it due to the FRI index and fatigue, he says I can only do 2 of them shifts out of 5.

Is this right ?

It must be legal as on Network Rail we can work a maximum of 6 consecutive 12 hour shifts.

6x12 hour then minimum 24 hours rest is my understanding.

Depends on your prior work as you can only do 72 hours in a 7 day period before you’re required to have a minimum of 24 hours rest
