Xmas Clapham Jct to Victoria

Hi all,

Does anyone know what work they are doing between Victoria and Clapham Jct over the Xmas Shutdown (and the days after that) ?

I know that long distance trains are being diverted via Herne Hill to Victoria and most Metro services are terminating at Clapham (i think).

Just wondering what work is being done

Yes, it's a bridge replacement job. The one that crosses over the Latchmere line.

Ah thanks, was wondering why all the lines were closed, except the WLL of course.

No Express either, and im curious of how the timetabling from Herne Hill to Victoria will be with Southeastern services too.

Assuming a straightforward diversion from East Croydon via Tulse Hill they could probably arrange for them to wait at Herne Hill and follow block to block behind the SET services if they don't get a clear path straight through?

If the suburbans do indeed terminate and turn back at Clapham Junction then it's only the main line services which beed to be diverted; if they can't fit them all through Herne Hill maybe some will go to London Bridge instead of Victoria?

The Bognor trains are going to London Bridge, but the Eastbourne/Littlehampton and Brighton ones will go via Herne Hill. I know the Eastbourne ones are also calling at Streatham Common and Streatham too.

Details can be found here. As far as I'm aware, not many Southern drivers sign the route via Herne Hill as it's not a usual route for Southern, only occasional ECS moves.

Presumably the 3rd rail doesn't extend much beyond Shepherd's Bush, so the trains will have to make use of the bi-directional signalling?

IIRC, it extends as far as North Pole, where trains can (and regularly do) turn around.

Yeah, been confirmed how trains are running. Must be going via Herne Hill from Streatham (trains that are running that way that is).

1 train per hour from Watford Junction to Caterham.

I don't think that's a service that's ever run before?
