Im travelling with XC tomorrow, does anyone know if they sell a weekend first upgrade (like EC) on the nottingham to birmingham new street route.

Bear in mind that if you are travelling on a Standard Advance fare, you cannot upgrade to Weekend First with XC.

You are quite correct. This is written on their website, as SS4 linked. However, some casual passengers may misinterpret that information :- it illustrates the upgrade offer with a reference to passengers buying tickets in advance (with a small 'a') which might lead a holder of an Advance to feel confident that they may sit in 1st and pay the suppliment on-board.

It is in the next paragraph that the holder of an Advance (with capital "A") is advised that their ticket is ineligible.

There is no First Class Advances available from Birmingham to Nottingham that I can find.....

Xc changed the way that these worked quite some time ago, it is £10, £15, or £20

Depends on how far you are travelling, the further you go the more you pay.
