Merry Christmas to anyone reading this!!

Couple of questions really and this might not be the right place.

I booked an advance single ticket weeks ago for 27th December the 14:50 York to Bristol Parkway train, however when I search for it online now it seems that tickets are not available, is there a way to confirm this train will be running or should I look for alternative options?

I think this could be linked to the planned strikes which were then cancelled could it just be that someone has not reactivated the journey or something?

Also I usually use Seatfrog to upgrade to first class where possible, however this journey is not listed on Seatfrog anymore (it was when I looked when initially booked, before the the strike action)

If it does not appear on Seatfrog is this a service on which you can pay for the weekend upgrade (which I think is £17.50) or is that upgrade offer not available over the festive period?

Thanks

Well yeah I already have an advance ticket which I purchased before the strikes were initially announced and then cancelled.

Worrying if the train is full, hopefully no one is in my reserve seat don’t fancy standing for 3 1/2 hours haha.

XC on the 27th will be extremely busy. Set your expectations low, this may well be a truly horrible journey.

Officially speaking Cross Country don't allow you to upgrade an Advance Standard single by payment of the Weekend First upgrade. Of course you might be lucky and get a Train Manager who will happily oblige regardless of your existing ticket being an Advance one.

Are you able to change your ticket to a train which does offer Seatfrog upgrades? I think it's silly that Cross Country don't appear to have forbidden Standard Advance ticket holders from upgrading to First Class via Seatfrog.. But let's not give them ideas!
