XC to serve Lichfield City

Just noticed this on the XC website:

TAMWORTH
Sunday 23 May until 1150
Trains will divert and call at Lichfield City. Journey times will be extended
by thirty minutes. Rail replacement road transport will operate between
Tamworth and Lichfield City.

Albeit for just a Sunday morning, is this unprecedented?

That's an interesting and rare event!

Though It's a pity there arn't/weren't more trains between Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth then they could have stopped there and passengers reached Tamworth by train rather than transferring to a bus/coach.

Well that is interesting, thanks tynesider. After 45 years, Lichfield and Burton finally get their direct service back, even if it is only for one Sunday morning!

Handy for anyone from Burton wishing to attend Lichfield Cathedral's Sunday service that weekend though.
