No, you haven't admitted you were in the wrong - you've tried to make excuses.

You're within your rights to request thread deletion but, unless your name is KC2, GDPR doesn't enter into it. You can request that your account is deleted though.

I don't feel that getting on a train one stop before your Advance ticket was valid, walking past clear opportunities to pay, and then spouting "it's not been a problem before" inferring this isn't the first time you've done it, was a "genuine mistake". I rather believe it was a "deliberate act"

Yes it was deliberate - I deliberately got on the train without a ticket - I have said this - I intended and offered to buy a ticket on the train - I had the chance to but was refused.

What because I don't want to post on here? I've had very little advice and a lot of personal insults along the lines of "well I think you were trying to deliberately avoid paying the correct fare"

This is the most simple part you need to understand, payment when challenged. If it was as simple as just paying when challenged then the majority of people wouldn't buy the correct ticket in the first instance and just wait to see if they were challenged/inspected. If they aren't then they get away with it. This is why you are required to buy before boarding.

KC2 the best advice anyone can give to yourself is just reply within the 14 days time frame mentioned on the letter you recieved explain fully and truthfully in your own words what it is there asking to explain and offer to pay the fare due and additional costs for there time. Apologise fully and that you accept full responsibility and apoligise.
When you send the letter back make sure you send it recorded/signed for to make sure they recieve it.

GDPR covers data that can be used alone or in combination with other data to identify a data subject. I doubt that anyone could identify K2C from what has been posted. All we know is that they are an individual who travelled from Stockport to Bristol Temple Meads in July.

I am positive XC could identify KC2 from what has been posted. They probably see (relatively) so few cases considered for prosecution that even the timing of the respective letters, let alone the details of the journey, are enough to uniquely identify KC2's case.

True. But by the same token they can identify him/her much more easily from the data they already hold e.g. his name and address (since they're the ones who wrote the letters!)
