XC Seat Reservation

I've got a seat reservation for Thurs on XC, the 1230 from Bristol through to Sheffield. The reservation is in Coach F. Is this an HST? Or do the Voyagers/SuperVoyagers have silly lettering? Thanks in advance.

That service is not booked for a HST.

I'm afraid Voyagers/Super Voyagers have silly lettering - the 1230 from Bristol is due a Voyager as part of the 0828 from Penzance.

A is First Class
B is Standard (Super Voyagers Only)
C is Standard (always there)
D is Standard (always there and used to have the Shop)
E has never existed, possibly a planned lengthening at some point?
F is Standard (always there)

It's an easy mistake to make, especially as Voyagers are embarrassingly short. Considering that both 4 and 5 cars have an abundance of power, wouldn't it be useful for XC to purchase some trailer vehicles that could be used as and when to strengthen services. In all places except perhaps the Lickey and Dainton the performance would hardly be compromised either.

Voyagers cope fine with 1 engine out so can't see such a problem arising.

Some TOC decided to do away with coach E or F to avoid confusion on badly printed documents
The same issue also applies with Coaches I, O, Q, P, and R

In theory, yes, however remember the general public are daft and stupid...
Keeping coaches as letters and seats and numbers prevents confusion between the two
It's bad enough when people board a train and ask you where coach 18F is!
