Agreed both companies rarely advertise for qualifieds but XC seem to more so of late, LNER for the foreseeable seem to be doing the goverment funded apprentice Driver scheme and I think a lot of tocs will follow suit. Unless they only need 1 or 2 drivers quickly in that case they'll go qualified.
Im sure lner's basic is around 70 and XC 65, however xc have Sundays outside the working week and as stated better TnC's which will probably work out around the same pay wise? (although the full 70 all will be pensionable at lner) also I think jwhat would sway me possibly more towards XC way it the more varied route card and they seem more an illusive interpersonal company rather than LNER seeming more corporate and another number but I may be wrong. I certainly wouldn't say no to either company, just have a general interest on which folk would rather work for and why.
